Accountability process would be made effective: Ch. Nisar

Atleast one good measure has been adopted from COD. Chaudry Nisar who is elected as the new leader of opposition has taken over as the chairman of public accounts committee…I hope this committee is empowered to take real measures against corruption. Also we should pray that the new leader of PAC rises above his party affiliation and can use his new position for eleminating corruption from the government, a huge problem faced by every subsequent government in our country…

Let’s all hope democracy in Pakistan is allowed to evolve…and we can move away from unaccountable dictatorial rules/regimes where people in power feel no pressure of accountability..

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly leader of the opposition, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that electing opposition leader Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is a new democratic tradition and vowed that he, rising above his party affiliation and political differences, would be making the accountability process effective through PAC.

Following his election as PAC Chairman, talking to the media here, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that he would endeavour ensuring media’s unhindered coverage of the PAC proceedings and added that he would be unfolding good results before the media. **He said that the leader of the opposition has been made chairman of the topmost accountability organization of Pakistan and generally it was said that the politicians were not sincere in accountability, but we would wipe out this perception and any wrong done in any regime would be subjected to stern accountability. **

Chaudhry Nisar is a very sincere, capable and honest politician. One good that came out of Musharrafs horse trading back in 2002 was that he managed to get the scum out of the PML[N] and formed his own party the Q lota league.
