I get them atleast once a week, with a recorded message saying press 1 if you want to lower interest rates on your Credit Cards and press 2 to remove your name from our calling list (pressing 2 still connects to one of the operators instead of removing your name).
They go by the company name ‘Account Services’ and that’s all the info they’ll give out about themselves. As soon as one asks for their phone number/location or any other info regarding the company they hang up on you.
I get 5-10 such emails, from these so called account services, a day. Most sly were those informing me of some UNUSUAL activity in my account for a bank I don’t bank with.
I get calls from them too …i usually tell them you are trying it on a wrong person you won’t have any luck so there is no point wasting your time and as well as mine…
yeap that’s supposedly the same people calling.
I get these as well … last week I got a call and when i asked which car they were referring to, the person asked me how many cars I have? When I told him since HE CALLED ME he should already have this info he hung up on me.
And yet they don’t stop calling you.
Next time they call I wanna tell them I know you are running a scam but I doubt that’ll do any good.
Hey there, I totally feel you!! I got this mysterious yellow postcard last year and it was addressed to me and said “We have good news for you!” Call us at: and it listed some 888 number. I called and they offered me a free watch if I subscribed to lower rate magazines. Ofcourse I didn’t do it..When I asked how they got my number and what company they are associated with they said it was because I had good credit and didn’t give me a company name..Then about nine months later they sent me the card again..I looked up the address online and found many posts by people saying this so called “company” was a hoax. Plus if you re on the no call list which runs in the U.S. then telemarketers should not be contacting you.
