How safe is it to open a foreign currency account (USD) in pakistan?
Is there any guarantee that it wont be taken away at will by the Govt. , and in the best case offered PKR at whatever conversion rate the bank decides on that day…
Would you recommend it ?

My father opened one last year, we hope gov will not freeze FCAs. My father has it with UBL, he can check the balance online and even make electronic transfer.

I have a couple of FCAs in Pakistan, in Habib Bank A.G Zurich. I only use 'em to wire money to may parents. I never keep any balance in those accounts though.
