According to Quran

I would like to know what Quran says about Alexander of Macedonia. A friend mentioned that it is mentioned in Quran that Alexander was a devout Muslim. I would like to know if that is true (not him being Muslim, but him being mentioned in the Quran).

Qur'an mentions a Dhul-Qarnain. Some people 'assume' it's a reference to Alexander the Great.

However Qur'an describes him as a believer, whereas Alexander the Great was a polytheist and allegedly a homosexual.... not that there's anything wrong with that.

PA

How can u state that there is nothing wrong with being a polytheist and a battyman on one hand, and are advocating to following only the Qur'aan on the other.

Please be kind enough to explain your stance!!!

My understanding of the Qur'aan states that there is EVERYTHING wrong with being a Polytheist and Battyman! ( faggot for all those who don't understand english slang).

PA: Can you please add the verse refrence here. I don't know on top of my head where Dhul-Qarnain has been mentioned in Quran.

They are mentioned in chapter 18 entitled The Cave.

I believe it was Cyrus the great. He was a Persian Prophet. There is an extensive research done by an Indian on this topic. I'll see if I can find it.

I have a request..can we have have a secular forum in the new version of gupshup where we can discuss religion?

Sometimes I sympathize those non-Muslim who have though time to confirm to the required pre-requisite before participating in the religion forum.

Come one guys, these non-muslim (hindus, Christian, Jew, Buddhist or others) do not know Islam that well to be given such a harsh treatment by us. They are ignorant of our belief and we are ignorant of their belief.

We need to have more patient and listen to what they say. Even if they insult our belief, we should have more patient and explain to them politely.

Do you think anyone would have become Muslim if our Holy Prophet was harsh on people?

I would be wary of counseling those non-Muslims who insult Islam. Most of these types would seem to readily fit into the kufr catagory. Those who are respectful from either side of belief would be a better discussion participant.
