You really need to get such bias out of your system. ICC does not think he chucks, Warne does not think he chucks, you thinks he chucks and my feeling is not because you believe in it but because he is the best off spinner in the world and happens to be from Sri Lanka and not India.

OK Asif, You have completely refused to look at the links I provided, you are just going to stick with your narrow minded mentality like always, you just can't accept the fact that Shoaib and Murali are good players and blowing away their oppositions.

Not really my NON-VEGGIE friend - You have better fast bowlers, we have better spin bowlers and we have better batsmen.
[/quote]

OK my friend, not to wake you up or anything, having Gavaskar and Tendulkur doesn't make the whole Indian batting good.
Admit that they are good batsmans but if you are implementing that India has overall better batsman than Pak, than I'm sorry for you.

PS- go check your links you provided about your bowlers taking 10 wickets, only 4 of them have taken 10.
Better luck next time.

Peace Out!

Well Ehsan, What do you expect Warnie to say -That he chucks ?? Didn't you see what happened to Gilchrist after telling the Truth ?

You say Warnie doesn't think he chucks, Well I say Michel holding does, Bob Simpson Does, Bishen Singh Bedi does.

X - clinically proven is another BS, Either you bowl or Chuck.

Who cares about Micheal Holding, Bobby Simpson and that jealous freak Bishen Bedhi say about Murali, as long as he is playing and he does not chuck.
Couple people's thought doesn't make him a chucker, I'm going to say it again, ICC proved his action legal and he does not chuck.
Stop living in the past by showing articles which are a year old and show articles from ICC or officials who thinks Murali or Shoaib chucking currently.

Once again, You called names to a former player. Bedi is a very outspoken man and he speaks his mind. To you everyone who speaks his mind is a jealous freak.

BTW, did you know that Michael Holding is part of ICC ??

Australia vice-captain Adam Gilchrist has been formally reprimanded by the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) after suggesting Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan's bowling action was suspect.

The ACB had charged Gilchrist, the world's top-ranked batsman, with making public comment detrimental to the interests of cricket.

Gilchrist attended a three-and-a-half-hour hearing in Sydney on Thursday. The wicketkeeper-batsman said the ACB code of conduct forbade him from commenting.

Gilchrist, speaking at an Australian Rules football pre-match function in Melbourne on May 26, had been quoted in The Age newspaper as saying the off-spinner's action was "not quite within" the rules.'

Gilchrist, who has scored 2,160 runs in 44 tests at an average of 60.00, was also quoted as saying other bowlers in the history of the sport were guilty of throwing.

Muralitharan, the sixth-leading wicket-taker in test cricket with 412 in 73 matches, was called for throwing in Australia in 1995/6 and 1999 but has since been cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Emerson slams Sri Lankan ‘chuckers’

Muralitharan’s action has been causing controveries

Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan’s bowling action is paving the way for “a generation of chuckers”, according to former Australian international umpire Ross Emerson.
Muralitharan, who is currently on tour in England, is widely regarded as one of the greatest spin bowlers in the history of the game.

But in an interview with the Perth Sunday Times, Emerson said; “Over in the sub-continent, they’re now producing a generation of chuckers and nobody cares - it’s just getting worse.”

Emerson was sacked by the Australian Cricket Board when the Sri Lankan team threatened to walk off the field after he no-balled Muralitharan during a match in Adelaide in 1999.

“Some of the Australians who came back from a tour a few years ago said all they had to do was walk down the street past any school, and you had a whole playground of kids chucking,” said Emerson.

“So who is going to stop it? Where does it stop?”

Muralitharan was reported to the game’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), for throwing in 1995.

He was later cleared, following detailed studies of his action.

ICC experts have agreed with Sri Lankan officials that an ‘anatomical disorder’ gives the illusion that his arm does not straighten.

Muralitharan recently returned to the Sri Lankan side for the second Test against England at Edgbaston after being sidelined with injury.

Emerson also ridiculed the successes of the off-spinner as an “absolute joke”.

"They are talking about him as the best spin bowler ever, but how many people has he got out through illegal actions?

ICC: ‘Anatominal disorder’ causes bend in Murali’s hand

Muralitharan has notched up 417 wickets in 74 Tests, after capturing 5-143 at Edgbaston.

Emerson said he felt so strongly about the issue - one of the hottest topics in world cricket - that he had tried to contact Australian vice captain Adam Gilchrist to offer him support.

“Gilchrist got it right. He said only what all the players think,” he said.

Gilchrist, who also called Murali a chucker, was reprimanded by the Australian authorities for breaching the board’s code of conduct.

Though Emerson was sacked from umpiring duties in international matches, many influential figures in Australia believe he was punished by the ACB for putting principle and a strongly-held belief before political correctness.

World doubts Murali
By ROBERT CRADDOCK
29may02

WHEN Adam Gilchrist effectively branded Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralidaran a chucker, he spoke for the silent majority of Test players worldwide.

A large number of Gilchrist’s contemporaries feel the same way but are not brave or silly enough to say so.

Cricketers are generally the first to identify a kink in an opponent’s action – but the last to make it public simply because they don’t need the hassle of becoming involved in another man’s war.

The three Australian umpires who have called Murali for throwing have had scores of players tell them privately that they were right.

Sometimes simple body language told its own story such as at the Adelaide Oval on Sri Lanka’s last tour when English captain Alec Stewart put his arm around umpire Ross Emerson a few overs after he had no-balled Murali for throwing.

But of course no one wants to go on the record, so the cricket world has become a awash with politically correct official approval of Murali masking a cynical undertone of silent disbelief from many players.

In charging Gilchrist for a breach of conduct for airing his thoughts at a Carlton Football Club function on Sunday, the ACB has effectively used a flamethrower to kill a mosquito.

In trying to crush what was essentially a small one-day story they have made it three times as big.

A discrete “you stuffed up” phone call probably would have been sufficient but, in fairness, the ACB may have been aware that the ICC would have stepped in if it hadn’t.

Gilchrist knew he had made a mistake as soon as he became aware that he would be quoted in the next day’s newspapers.

But he tried to correct it by ringing Murali that night.

If he is guilty of anything it is being a little naive on the day.

Cricket officialdom has a notoriously short fuse with any player or official who brands Murali a chucker.

Umpires Darrell Hair and Ross Emerson both copped rough deals in the years after they made infamous chucking calls with Hair indignantly forced to step down from matches against Sri Lanka and Emerson banished from the national panel altogether.

Since Murali was first called by Hair I have privately asked scores of umpires, players and commentators for their verdict on his action and whether he illegally straightens his arm in the act of delivering the ball.

Of people I have spoken to, about 70 per cent feel that it is flawed.

Some people stridently defend him and feel, like the ICC, that he is clean.

The greatest bone of contention is Murali’s top spinner which he bowls as if he was a unleashing a yo-yo.

Until someone convinces me that you can properly flick a yo-yo with a straight arm (try it yourself) I’m afraid I’m with the suspicious 70 per cent.

Council clarifies Muralitharan case (16 Jan 1999)

‘Chucking’ issue must be taken out of umpires’ hands](http://www-usa2.cricket.org/link_to_database/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/1999/JAN/BERRY_ON_CHUCKING_24JAN1999.html)

Muralitharan unfair victim of an umpire on a crusade

Since I have no buisness to comment on your judgement, so all I’m going to say is get on with it, he has been cleared, it doesn’t matter whomever doubts his actions, he is still playing, that all it matters.

Muralitharan may skip Australian tour

**SYDNEY: Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan may miss a One-day International series with England and Australia here in December-January because of fears local umpires will call him for chucking.

The Sydney Daily Telegraph reported on Wednesday that the Sri Lankan believed Australian umpires were targetting him unfairly and it would not be worth coming there just a month before the World Cup in South Africa.

Muralitharan may well be right. Former policeman Ross Emerson, the last umpire to no-ball the Sri Lankan, said last week the 30-year-old was paving the way for a generation of chuckers.

Emerson, who no-balled the off-spinner amid dramatic scenes in Adelaide three years ago, said it was “an absolute joke” Muralitharan was on track to become Test cricket’s top wicket-taker of all time, as he neared West Indian Courtney Walsh’s record of 519. Muralitharan’s tally is 417 from 74 Tests. “They are talking about him as the best spin bowler ever, but how many people has he got out through legal actions?” Emerson asked in an interview with The Perth Sunday Times.

Emerson’s broadside came only days after Australian vice-captain Adam Gilchrist was reprimanded by the Australian Cricket Board for saying Muralitharan’s action was illegal. The International Cricket Council (ICC) have agreed with Sri Lankan officials that an “anatomical disorder” gives the illusion that Muralitharan’s arm does not straighten.**

Good decision by the little master, who knows if there is still some racist freak waiting for him to give a no ball.
