Abu Dhabi

Anybody visited Abu Dhabi? How was it? How is it compared to Dubai? I wanted to visit this while I was in Dubai but couldn’t due to shortage of time - it was only a bus ride away. Do you know if there any travelling complications (e.g. visa) when moving around states within the u.a.e?

It looks more beautiful compared to Dubai.

Re: Abu Dhabi

I have only visited Abu Dhabi in the UAE, therefore can't compare it with Dubai. You can see the entire city within two days. The only place I found interesting was the Marina mall. There was also a lovely mosque being built; not sure if it's finished yet. Perhaps, I may have missed some places but the area around the ocean front is pretty nice and worth seeing.

Re: Abu Dhabi

^ thanks, I was shocked to see the number of south asian people living in Dubai -for a sec I thought I was in India/PK! In the Bur Dubai area you'll see some strolling and lying on the streets like they have no work or home, some even just standing and staring like they do in Pakistan, it the same in Abu Dhabi?

Re: Abu Dhabi

well, my trip there was quite brief and I was occupied with what I was supposed to do. Nonetheless, you see people from a lot of backgrounds and different cultures, especially SE Asians..

Re: Abu Dhabi

well CM2000, dubai is different than abu dhabi in terms of its crowdiness. Dubai is really crowded and Abu Dhabi is too, but most of the Indians and Pakistanis, esp pathans are crazy abt dubai only.so it's obviously less crowded but very well developed, as it's also the capitol of UAE.

Re: Abu Dhabi

The capital of U.A.E. is actually Abu Dhabi and not Dubai.

Re: Abu Dhabi

The boat ride past the Emirates Palace Hotel is supposed to be really nice, especially at sunset. And if they let you, definately visit the hotel itself. Apparently its a class above the Burj and if you have lots of money to burn, try staying there.
