Corniche:

Abu Dhabi Corniche is one of the main attractions and a worth seeing place in the city. The Corniche is a long road that extends almost 6 km or 4 miles from the Sheraton Hotel to the Hilton Hotel. There are several gardens lined all along the Corniche around the coastal boulevard that borders the city. It is supposed to be one of the best roads in AUH.

A lot of fountains and extremely beautiful landscaping work can be seen on this road. That truely gives you a fresh feeling n coolness to the beholders eyes. The background on the road is set with a number of tall and picturesque buildings facing to the blue sea.

This place is quite popular among AUH folks as this place is used for multi-purposes.

Athletes who want to practice, families who want to relax and enable children to play in open space and for love pair who want some space in the open to spend time with each other. For cycling enthusiasts, a separate cycling track has been provided for.

The Corniche is equipped with water and snack machine providing the visitors an easy access to satiate their appetites. At the same time, the Corniche also contains clearly demarcated area for walking, playing beach volleyball, children’s playgrounds, swimming area and toilet facilities as well.

The new development at abu dhabi corniche is the facilities of changing rooms n showers, a mosque , more snacks n refreshment bars, open air cafes, wider walking pathways, jogging tracks etc.

Along the landscaped area, benches have been laid out giving the people one of the most refreshing sights of the sea.

I personally like corniche very much. Its one of the best and leading entertianment destinations in UAE. A lot of new work is still going on.

WHERE TO EAT IN ABU DHABI ?

I thought interest ceased in this thread, but it still prevails good for us being AUHians.

Actually FT is giving a very Dynamic View of Abu Dhabi.
I too want to share My personal view regarding Restaurants in Abu Dhabi.

There are many restaurants in the city of Abu Dhabi , nearly at each Sector you will find Pakistani Restaurant , where you can go for daily Breakfast , Lunch and Dinner.

Restaurants surrounding my Work place in TCA (Tourist Club Area ) known as Nadisia also , Jafery Restaurant , Al Habib Restaurant , Al Haseeb Restaurant and Darbar Restaurant, where one can go for daily meals in case you are not preparing at your residence.

One of the Well known Restaurants is Worth to Mention in the Heart of Abu Dhabi , I will say that Being Pakistani if you did not go to That Restaurant i will sya you have not eaten in Abu Dhabi, you will find many Pakistani/Indian Families coming there.

That is Ibraheemi Restaurants one is on main Electra Street beside Sands Hotel and the Other is Behind Well known Shoping and Gold Center in Madina Zyed.

If you come to Abu Dhabi you must go there at least one time for eating, whenever my friends come from outside I used to take them to the Ibraheemi Restaurant.

Meals there are delicious , in varity , rates are reasonable having cultural flavour.

Re: ABU DHABI - The Capital of UAE

Agreed with Engr. Ibrahimi has excellent variety of delicious paki, iranian, arab and chinese food. We have been there so many times that the whole staff on both branches know us quite well now. As a result I often get free garam garam gulab jaman after the food  coz the guys know I am in love with their gulab jamans. IF i go with any of my friends or guest from pakistan like mom or sis etc, then usually tea is free  as they say its their hospitality which is cool n above all free too

Other then Ibrahimi, Labenese Flowers restuarants give you the best labanese/Arab food. The chicken soup they serve is only their speciality. You wont find that taste anywhere else. I always wanted to ask them the recipe :frowning: . it is different even in appearence. It doesnt look like the usual chicken soups we see or make at home. So definitely they make it in some diff n special way.

There is huge range of chinese rests. you will find it almost in every corner of the city. My personal choice is Kawloon and Oasis.

Apart from those, you will see the international brands or chains of rests everywhere, in every busy street n in every Mall. e.g. McDonalds, KFC, SFC, Pizza Hut, NY Fries, Papa John’s, Pizza company, Burger King, Fish n Chips, Chilis, TGI Friday etc etc…

Cusine available are Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, American, Maxican, Iranian, Afghani, Turkish, Labenese, Italian, Arabic, Greek, Malaysian, Thai , philippiono etc are easily available. The best part is all food is Halaal and cheap too :k:
