LAHORE: Yes! The king of bhangra is back with a whack after a gap of three years. Abrar announced the release of his new album, Naara Sada Ishq Aey, at a press conference, attended by a large number of mediapersons held at Peru Café here.
This time Telenor will be the main sponsors of the album, while a local music company will launch the singer’s sixth album in the country. The mobile network company also launched Ali Zafar’s album, Masty, a few months back.
The video of Kar Dey Ni Paper Sign, a song from his new album, was also showed to the media during the press conference. The cassettes and CDs of his album will be available in the market from March 5. And the local music channels started the telecast of the video yesterday.
In his new album, the singer will be mixing all genres of music in a single CD as ever. But this time the lyrics will be carrying a much serious message, as he will be mixing the message of love with patriotism.
“I always had preached love among the masses through my songs. But in this album, I want to give a vision to our youth,” the singer said confidently in a reply to a question.
Abrar is going beyond borders by releasing his album in other countries as well by signing a contract with an international company for the launch of his album in other countries, including India. Abrar anticipates that a legitimate release of the album in India will be beneficial in curbing piracy of his songs there.
“I am giving a blend of all types of music in my new album. I have also kept the poetry simple and direct in order to be understood by everyone,” the singer avers.
The album has nine Punjabi songs and one Urdu song, which shows the singer’s proclivity towards the Punjabi music. The dominance of the Punjabi language in the album also shows that the singer wants the propagation of the language among the audience who feel shy of speaking Punjabi with others except with their servants. His palette of songs includes bhangra, folk and a special song Maan.
“Maan has been the most difficult song for me ever since I started singing. I always wanted to sing a song for mothers. I lost my mother in 1996 and her death had been an irreparable loss in my life, which made my efforts to write lyrics on the topic even more difficult. But one line (Maan Tu Chetay Aunoon Hat Di Naa) from my friend turned out to be the muse for the creation of the song,” the singer said in a pensive mood.
The singer also announced that he would be making a forum, Youth Parliament, in the near future. “Through the platform I will try to educate and advise the youth of Pakistan who are directionless and lack a proper vision for the betterment of the country,” the singer quips. He had also been a teacher in Aitchison College before the release of his superhit track Billo.
Many international problems will be the subject of his songs like anorexia, as depicted through his number Patloo. It should be noted that international celebrities like Nicole Richie and Victoria Beckham have been blamed in the international media for the promotion of anorexia among young girls.
But the response to the album will show whether the singer still possesses the essence of his music – simplicity of lyrics – and conveys his message in an innovative style. So, all you waiting out there just don’t wait and go for the album as soon as it hits the music stores in the country.
