Hi, My husband submitted his passport 3/4 months ago and I called american embassy in islamabad and ask them about my husband case they said it’s still pending everything is complete and I’m US citizen still why taking so long? when I ask them do you guys need any other documents or anything they said no everything is comeplete just wait. what is the maximum time to get ur passport back with Visa Does anybody here got their passport back with Visa yet?

It takes 1 and a half to 3 years to call your spouse from pakistan to US if you are a US citizen.

all other my friends and relatives they got their visa in 1 year to 6 months I heard if you are resident then it takes 3 years

You might want to provide some more information on which kind of visa did your husband applied for. You husband's case might be in admin processing which basically is the name check done trough the state department and can take upto 2 years. Here is some information on the state department for you to contact.

State Department Contact:
To get an update on your case on AR, call the State Dept Visa Office at 202-663-1225. After hearing message, press 1,0,0....you will speak to an operator who will ask for your case #.

^ exactly that!!

The administration processing(AP) usually takes from "3 weeks to infinite".. these are the exact words from the embassy when we went through the similar immigration processs.. however, ours was over and done with in 33 days... my friend's husband stayed in AP for seven months before getting the visa even though they kept the passport at the interview.. you have done your work, now it's time to sit back and wait to hear from them.. the max you can do is call NVC and check the status so very often!!!

I called them and email them so many times and every time what I get just wait and wait how long don't know

Try the state department number I gave you and have his case number ready. They will be able to tell you a lot more than the embassy since all the information from the embassy and FBI name check is kept at the visa section at state department.

Okay I call them and they said it's still pending I asked the guys why it's taking so long he said for some people it takes longer and for some fast so lot of companies checking his name I didn't get it why they checking his name now when they told him we will send you ur passport soon it's almost 6 months.

If he is applying for a spouse (husband/ wife) visa it takes 1 and a half to 3 years. Even for visit visas sometimes they do a security check after giving the visa. For my friend it took a year before she got her passport back. Ditto for another friend's mom. The fastest time is when you apply through F1 visa or fiance visa. The longest is when you are applying for your spouse and you ahve a Greencard. It takes upto 5 years.

maybe Allah is testing you,to see how patient or impatient you are ,so relax you can't hurry the process by fretting calm yourself and wait.....

They wont tell you exactly what is going on but try to ask them which of the name checks it is that they are performing. There are quite a few of them depending on how much of a match your husband's name is to one of the people they are looking for. You can do an on line search on admin processing....it takes time....pray for yourself and your husband and if you don't work you can always visit him. You can PM me and I will send you the website where there a quite a few folks waiting for admin processing and it will help you to talk to someone who is going thru the same thing as you. When I applied for my wife to come here I visited this site frequently and made some friends that I m still friends with. Just hang in there and before you know it, your husband will be with you, inshallah.

The thing is I have baby and since I got pregnent I'm living with my parents now my baby is 9 months and my husband haven't seen my baby which makes me upset and I can't go to pakistan bcz of some issues from my in laws please pray for me.

^eeek that is tough!! If you are not working, you can always go and visit your husband.. he can rent a place if you don;t want to live with your in laws! InshaAllah it will work out for you!! Admin processing is not something pleasant to be in but have faith and it will be over soon!!

You can also visit visajourney.com and you will find lots of people in a similar situation! In fact it will also give you an idea of the approximate admin processing time these days.. when my husband's visa was approved.. almost everyone was getting out of admin processing in 45 days and just six months before that, teh wiat time was almost a year.. It varies!!!

Huh I wish he can do that but he's kind of mamma's boy and rentting place is like crating problem for everone which I don't want to it's not like I don't want to live with them they don't want me to stay with them so call main unkay beetay ko cheen loo ge. it's other thing I wish he can get his visa soon yes I check this site every single day lagta hai 2/3 years bhool jaao apnay husband ko from ppl blogs it shows it takes 2/3 years to get visa.
