About Miss Bikini

Re: About Miss Bikini

Fortunately, the Pak. government has taken the authority to speak for Pakistanis away from either of us. Deal with it.

As for being a critic...of whom?

Re: About Miss Bikini

Let's not get nuts here. Everyone I know despises the state of Pakistani corruption and social disorder. What to do? That's not an easy question to tackle, but let's not pretend like lack of answers implies tacit support. That's simply false, and a slander.

It's very easy to be critical of a solitary person doing a solitary thing. All the Pak government did was to rightly distance itself from a person who was masquerading as an official representative of Pakistan for personal gain. That's a good thing, no matter how disorderly pak society is.

She just feels like doing it nothing more....you wanna judge everything Pakistanis say from now from their speeches to what they wear on TV and street because it might not represent our culture?
[/quote]

What she does on her own time is her business..in an international tournament, invoking the name of Pakistan....not "just" her own business...

Re: About Miss Bikini

As for being the critic thing ..i was referring it to ...every person wants to critisize whatever doesnt seems appropriate to their wishes....
lets take an example......lets say i dont like Mullah's ..but they are a part of our country and thanks to them our country is known to the rest of the world in a horrible way.... but at the same time some people love them to death...similarly there are people who call Musharaf a dictitor and bla bla bla.... and they believe he has given bad name to the country....but at the same time some people believe he has done good for the country......The same case is here ....Difference of opinion.......
To you she has done the horrible thing in the world but to me... there is nuthing wrong in it.....
Dont start giving me lecture over the conservative culture crap.....
Yeah i know we are from conservative culture but comon one day we gonna have to get out of this fake curtin then so let it b today.

Re: About Miss Bikini

Like I said, it is so easy for us to jump on a "ban her because she does not represent our culture" wagon when there are so many problems in Pakistan. If she is my priority to condem and tackle than it would not even be in a top ten list. I am more worried about a Pakistani woman who has a gun barrel pointed to her head who will eventually become a victim of Honor killing than a woman who is wearing a bikini. We condem because she wears a Pakistani band over her chest and that is it....what about that woman that has a barrel...just because she has no Pakistani logo strapped we will see....

There are over 200 women in Pakistan killed every year on honor killings. How many times Pakistani government is going to distance herslef from such crime? They talk when they are put on spot light or pressured that is it...some representation of culture and values.

Re: About Miss Bikini

Just curious - what do Pakistani women wear when they swim ?

Re: About Miss Bikini

but mostly they swim with ladies only

Does that include you? You do, after all, think it's inappropriate to criticize in the first place...

What she does personally, yes. What she does as an official rep. of Pakistan...no. Like it or not, the mullahs are NOT official reps. of Pakistan and Mushy is. That's simply a fact. This is what your example fails to account for.

Fake curtain? The only thing fake or imported is the non-conservative mentality...there won't be "one day". If anything, the Pak. government is for once reflecting the common view.

Re: About Miss Bikini

To conflate this issue with any other issue is folly....and insulting to the victims of honor killings, and so on.

Re: About Miss Bikini

No it is not. You are beating around bushes. Let me make it simple for you where I stand:

If I were the official of Pakistan, I would spend day and night ending all the problems in Pakistan and ignore this issue, story and girl because it does not add, subtract, divide or multiply anything from our society, culture and ground realities.

What's your stand: As a representative of Pakistan, she can't wear a bikini.

Re: About Miss Bikini

Why ignore, when it takes two seconds to release a public statement? Indeed, let's not beat around the bush here...aside from making a statement, no further action was said or done. Whopee...

Bringing in all of Pakistan's problem as a means of silencing this idot's critics is simply wrong and cowardly. Are you implying that those who are critical of ol miss bikini there are otherwise tacitly endorsing or approve of Pakistan's current social state and the problems within? It's hardly the case.

As I said before, your logic can be extended to annoying ends...why concentrate on single gang rape victims...why if I were an NGO, I would work day and night for peace in the NWFP and Baluchistan....and so on and so on. Conflation of issues is not the way to talk about any single issue...

Re: About Miss Bikini

The point is, when they keep ignoring those problems and give attention to this makes them look like idiots. That is my point from the start; let them first seriously tackle those issues than make a statement about Miss Bikini.

Re: About Miss Bikini

i saw a picture of her and she is ugly. i dont know what she was thinking entering this competition she doesnt even look good in a bikini

Re: About Miss Bikini

i wanna c her

Re: About Miss Bikini

she is good looking..........

this is the tyical over-reaction from jealous pakistani girls when they see other pakistani girls in bikinis

the first thing they criticize is their looks

Re: About Miss Bikini

^wait a sec, i thought u were muslim, how can u condone sumthing like this.

Re: About Miss Bikini

Although I don't like saying this but I second that

Re: About Miss Bikini

dude, i dont support behaviour like this....

but is this really the most important thing that pakistan is dealing with right now?

if she wants to wear a bikini, who are you to tell her what she can or cannot do?

arent terrorists who use islam as a justification to kill a bigger threat than this girl wearing a bikini?
