Soft Like Silence
Her whisper sounds like a fish
napping in water
a heart delicately beating up against one’s ear
like a gentle kiss from a loved one
like Spanish dancers performing a simple melody
a high note played on a piano
a serene knock at the glass door
like the clatter of wind chimes on a breezy day
like children laughing from a distance
like the sound I heard when she tip-toed into the room
and calmly said “I love you”.
