Share you experience about other operating systems, specially Linux. Recently I found a blog on URDU POINT about a version of Linux developed by Africans.
As we know that Linux is a free open source operating system not like Microsoft Windows, that you have to pay a big amount to have orignal operating system.
In past Linux was not having easy Graphical User interface so not too much people have used it. But with the time it has been updated many times. Now it has very similer interface like microsoft windows & windows users can use it easily.
I am talking about Ubuntu Linux. It has been ranked 17 by PCWorld in 2007’s best products. It is good to stop microsoft money grabbing policy.
Check out the site & download it, I have downloaded it & found it good. If you got some questions you may ask help from me. If you have used it already then share your views here.
The Write at urdupoint have written more on it.
Thanks
No No No. You dont quite understand what open source is. This DISTRIBUTION is SPONSORED by Mark Shuttleworth. Just like Fedora is sponsored by Red Hat.
You also know that Mark lives and works in London. His (small number of) employees have no offices and all over the world. The fact he was BORN in South Africa does not mean this company is based their. Bit like saying Sun Micro is a Indian company becuase the co-founder was born in India. What a load of stupid pathetic arguments.
Here we go again. Ubuntu IS a DISTRIBUTION of LINUX and no it's a Africa word.
Okz. That's enough talk on it. I think, you want to prove yourself superior than me, therefore you still repeating these statements.
I am looking for some good talk on the title of the thread. Naming & Source is not much important, If you have used it, share you view. Sorry for any hurting statements.:)
