Does anyone know WHY and WHEN docs do this test? Its a test to measure the number of white blood cells called eosinophil..Apparently its a test to confirm a diagnosis rather than to make one.. Docs didn’t tell about any diagnosis and just did this blood test.. it came out abnormal.. the normal range should be between 1-6 but for that particular person its 10.6.. I read whats available on net but I am curious to know if anyone knows anyone who dealt with it? Is it something normal?
The docs in Pakistan just dun tell anything.. they never satisfy the patient.. we dun even know what these tests are for.. we are given the results only!!! Any idea what could be going on???
my chacha had it done after he had rapid weight loss and compalined bout fatique.. he went from a wreslter like built to quite thin..
doc didnt want to say beforehand but had this test done without telling us much... the results confirmed that he had a higher white blood cell count than red... and confirmed bone marrow cancer.. leukemia to be exact. i wish i knew more details but i was young at the time and the grown ups didnt share much.
i hope inshallah the results wont be life threatening .. :)
MO3.. I read that and thats exactly what scared me even more!!! If they are trying to diagnose one of these then the patient/family should at least know about it.. Anyway, we are waiting to hear more from the doctor and also going for a second opinion!!
Khawa.. that sounds scary.. I hope there is nothing like that.. but we haven't observed any symptoms like that.. it was a regular annual check up and then the doc recommended a few tests and all of them turned out fine except this one.. I am hoping InshaAllah it will be nothing serious!!
Be patient, GG...say prayers and send good thoughts. Really, the docs are doing the right thing at this time by not saying much...I mean they COULD tell you all the things they are looking for and scare the heck outta you all ..... but it could be a simple infection yeah? So...INshallah, thats what it will be. I will keep you in prayers that this will be the case :)
Thanks MO3.. it means a lot to me.. lots of prayers are needed.. I really hope and pray that its nthing serious..I can't deal with anything like this anymore!!
gtg: inshallah it wont be anything... the site indicates the tests can be done for something as simple as allergies to leukemia.. talk bout scaring someone huh... but dont worry... have to keep positive.. docs tho kabhi kabhar shuru mein hi dil maar de thay hain.. only to find out later on that it was nothing serious!
my chacha was in the very advanced stages when he found out so the rapid weight loss was the only indicator for him.. didnt go into that form immediately.
