Pakistani physicist linked to ‘God particle’ shunned at home - Technology & Science - CBC News

The pioneering work of Abdus Salam, Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate, helped lead to the apparent discovery of the subatomic Higgs boson, or “God particle,” last week, but the late physicist is no hero at home, where his name has been stricken from school textbooks.

Re: Abdus Salam

I remember reading about him several times in my school text books...I don't believe this article.

Re: Abdus Salam

When were your school textbooks printed? If you think that the claims are false regarding the current situation you should write a rebuttal to CBC.

Re: Abdus Salam

It was more than a decade ago but I can confirm regarding the new syllabus by making few calls to people iknow in Pakistan who work in education department.

Abdus Salam School of Mathematics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One of the faculties in Pakistan’s top university is named after him so you can imagine he’s well respected in Pakistan.

Re: Abdus Salam

Then, you definitely should write a rebuttal. I would.

Re: Abdus Salam

What a blessing God gave to the Pakistani Nation and they denied his Grace. Oh, you ungrateful folk, turn back to your God and accept the Promised Messiah (as). Look how much this situation resembles the Meccan Chiefs who threw out Muhammad Mustafa (saw) from Mecca.

This country does not salute Dr. Abdus Salam for being a Ahmadi, but loves to drink Coca Cola. Watch this hypocrisy.

Re: Abdus Salam

The people of Pakistan always remember the services of great physicist Abdus Salam as he provides great services in the physics and due to that Pakistan get first Noble Prize.
