Musharraf is far from begging for anything from our current breed of politicians. The PPP government will never take any action against him, because they are a product of the NRO, as is Nawaz Sharif and co.
As for Mr. Sharif, he is simply taking a personal revenge, nothing else. And no, the ‘people of Pakistan’ are not looking for any apology, nor do they care. Times were much better during Musharraf’s rule than they were during Sharif’s previous rule, or PPPs rule. The only ‘people’ asking for a trial are political jayalas, who have an interest in keeping the public’s attention away from things like loadshedding, lawlessness, exorbitant prices during Ramazan, obscene amounts of loans being asked from donors in order to ‘stabilize’ Pakistan, most of which are no doubt going into the pockets of PPP and even PML, as hush money.
PPP is allowing Nawaz Sharif to stage all this crap only because it serves their purpose by masking all these problems. Nawaz Sharif is the one who went to the Saudis 9 years ago, begging to give him shelter, and save him from a jail sentence, which he so deserved. Wish Musharraf had not let him off the hook back then.
As for Musharraf, he has been roaming freely since leaving office, and there is no chance he will be arrested on his return to Pakistan. Thugs like PPP or PML-N certainly dont have an argument against Musharraf, considering their own worst than worse track records.
No doubt in my mind that if at all there is a case brought up against Musharraf, the (real) public will stand up against it, as will the army.
PML[N] is not a beneficiary of the NRO, you are wrong. PPP IS the present Govt, they can do without the NRO now that they are in power.
Real public standing up for Musharraf? hahahahahhahahahahah are you one of those same people who kept thinking Mush’s PML[Q] will win 300 seats in the previous election? I guess this real public is a figment of your imagination, the silent overwhelming majority that never exists!
