LONDON: English cricket county Leicestershire have signed Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq as their second overseas player for the forthcoming FL T20 tournament.
The 31-year-old joins Australian Andrew McDonald to complete the overseas contingent after a move for India all-rounder Irfan Pathan fell through.
“I think this shows our ambition,” Leicester’s chief executive Mike Siddall told Cricinfo.
“We had a little bit of money available with Andrew McDonald going to the IPL. We want to do better than last year in the T20 when we lost seven home matches.”
Razzaq with 46 Test caps has played in 262 one-day internationals and 26 Twenty20 internationals. He has a career Twenty20 bowling average of 19.64.
He has previously played for Hampshire, Surrey, Worcestershire & Middlesex counties. Leicestershire open their FL t20 campaign at Northamptonshire on Friday.

I hope he stays there and keeps performing there. We Pakistani's dont deserve such players. We only deserve Akmal Brothers, Iftikhar Anjum and Danish Kaneria like players.

Razzaq is 31 .... wow ... i mean wow ..... to me it looks like the guy plays almost for ages but still 31 :D

If do get rid of the idot PCB chairman, Razzaq should be next captain for Pakistan.

He is a working horse, not the best fielder. He doesnt have aggressiveness a captain shld have.

When I first heard this news, I was sure that he would play couple of very handy innings and take a few wickets afterall he is going to be playing against non international bowling sides and non international batsmen.....and today he proves me rigth.....He did great today, after all this is the level (read non international cricket) where he belongs!

If used by proper captain, he can disturb international batsman and bowlers.
