Abdul Qadir has resigned as Pakistan’s chief selector, barely six months into his stint. The move comes the morning after a dispiriting defeat to England in the ICC World Twenty20 in England, but it is believed that was not the spur for the decision.
“Abdul Qadir has handed in his resignation to the chairman of the board and it has been accepted,” Salim Altaf, chief operating officer PCB, told Cricinfo. “No reason has been given to us by Qadir.” More to follow

re: Abdul Qadir quits as chief selector / Wasim Bari made interim chief selector
According to the article, the decision was not based on the defeat. Remember, they are Pakistani selectors who bear no responsibility, it's not like they have any shame in them. Come on, people...
I dont think that he resigned cuz of the defeat yesterday. He resigned cuz he is sick of how the PCB runs and him conflict with Salim Altaf & Ijaz Butt. Being the Cheif Selector yet he is a puppet. Whatever Ijaz Butt wants, happens. Even in the team selection. So why should be ruin his name when he doesnt agree with the final squad that's selected. Period!
Wasim Bari](http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/43549.html), the former Pakistan wicketkeeper, has been appointed the interim chairman of selectors in place of Abdul Qadir, who quit last week.
Bari, who played 81 Tests for Pakistan, served two previous terms as chairman of selectors and was the PCB’s director of human resources immediately before his latest appointment.
His first task, a PCB statement said, would be to pick the team for the tour of Sri Lanka in July, when Pakistan are due to play three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 international.
Qadir quit as chief selector on June 8, following differences with the PCB, which he accused of interfering in his duties.
