Allah has blessed us with a baby boy!! But we are a bit confused about the name…is it Abdul Rahim or Abdur Rahim?? Is there anyone who can give advice about this??
Re: Abdul or Abdur Rahim
Abdul Rahim would be ‘correct’, as Abdul means ‘banda’, and Abdur means nothing.
But in english, it would be a case of semantics, as at the end of the day, the name is actually arabic, and how you transliterate it into english will not change the meaning of it. To be on the safe side, Id say, Abdul Rahim.
Congratulations on the new arrival!
Re: Abdul or Abdur Rahim
when you combine the two names “Abdul” and “ReHmaan” the according to grammar rules, “ul” becomes “ur”. so the correct name would be Abd-ur-ReHmaan. you may call him Abdul as first name. one should avoid using calling someone ReHmaan alone. it should always be either “Abdul” or “Abd-ur-ReHmaan”
'abd = slave/banda
beTaa mubaarak ho! May Allah make him his parent’s coolness of eyes and may Allah make his dunyaa and deen a success…aameen

You can you use Rahim on it’s on. Ar-Rahim is for Allah. Al-Ali is also Allah’s name… Ali as we know iS a famous Sahaba’s name .
The correct name would be Abdur-Rahim
