Trying to find a biographical account on the web of this companion and son of AbuBakr(R.A)
If not could somone please tell me briefly his role in Islamic history

why do u want to know about him?There is little which we can find about him but i will try to find some info about him.
He was the son of Abu Bakr ra and Umm-e-Ruman.His role is not much mentioned in books.I couldnot find him but on one occasion.
It is when Ameer Muawiyah ra came to Makkah to swore alligiance of Yazeed he said that this is how Abu Bakr ra did so Abdurehman bin Abu Bakr ra replied that he didi not name his son as succesor but Umar ra as his succesor.
This is much i know about him.U can find more from Ibn-e-Kaseers book albidayya wannahiyyah.

Thanks for the reply,I am trying to piece togather accounts of the lives of the lesser known sahaba because some of their achievements are truely great but often overlooked in history
