So what are the basic skin care products a girl should have/use?
I am very ignorant about the basic skin care rituals. So for someone who does not use anything other than bar soap and a moisturizer (for the face) what do you suggest?
Also, my other question is what are the very basic makeup products a girl should own? I do use some makeup like eyeliner and mascara etc but when it comes to coverup, base and foundation i am lost. So whats the difference and which should I use.
Just so you guys know I don’t have any problems with my skin. It tends to be dry in the winter and oily in the summer and if i get pimples they are on the forehead only.
I just want to keep my skin healthy and since I’m moving to Pakistan soon (InshAllah early next year) I wanted to get some products before I leave. Any help from is appreciated.
Canadian, I will share with you what I mostly do for skin care .. but i am not into cosmetics and too many products , hence i keep it very simple:
I keep a good facewash, neutrogina brand helps alot ...
StIves Facial scrub is really good and relaxing , give the skin a fresh look
I also have a neutrogina cleansers ... I use that at night to take off makeup bits ...
and of course a top quality moisturizer to ensure skin remains moisturized all the time...
You should never use soap for your face. Use a facewash. Cleansing, toning and moisturising daily will keep your skin healthy. Oh and I forgot you must exfoliate once a week. I do that and MashAllah the only time I had a sopt was like a month ago and that too was a big deal for someone who never gets them lol

A good face wash, toner, cream, and make sure you use all three things everyday. Oh and sunblock! I get burnt really easily so I need it all the time

A question though, isn't a toner suppose to cleans the skin so is it necessary to use a cleanser and a toner?

lol yes Nadz i'm sure I will get makeup there but just wanted to have some basics before I get married.
toner isnt supposed to clean the skin. toner is to remove the traces of facewash or cleanser and minimize the pore size and tone the skin after cleansing.
hmm, like u em either not into makeup so much, but yes for basic skin care u must stop using that bar soap, ur skin will end up dry using it. take any gud branded face wash for daily use. n yep exfoliation is too necessary, even i am laking this habbit, me too shud add it in my basic skin care.
for getting softer skin i use baby lotion as a moisturizer, u can also get moisurizers of different barnds, i preffer baby lotion cz the posibility of much chamicals is less.

Ok I have some questions Gina
I have normal to oily skin, tends to get dry sometimes especially around the lips cos i am getting acne from some time, I use neutrogena's pore refining cleanser, it has small beeds in it, is it fine to use it daily? I don't use it daily but wash my face with acne wash(2times) and besan(once) daily and then apply moisturizer.. shall i start using this cleanser daily or get another one?
also any homemade toner/scrub?
also can u recommend pls any light concealar/foundation? I don't know ANYthing about make-up, getting married soon iA So I just want to get the err.. light products, mineral are they called i guess? lol
