Correct me if im wrong, but didnt Indira Gandhi choose to have Sikhs as her bodyguards, against the wishes of advisers? And then was assassinated for her troubles…

How did she get to choose her own security if its not her call?

I had heard this in documentary I once saw..

Dont know about that. I think by that time security to PM was provided by delhi police. SPG was created after her assassination.
