Ab-cruncher or treadmil

which is better?

Has anyone seen the advertisement for the ab-cruncher? The one that say flatter abs in 3 minutes? Does that work?

I posted in wrong forum again, what is it with me?

I think u are very intelligent and i like ur custom title and I agree with you :-p

j/k....

as for the topic, try kar kay bataaouN gaa...

Well they are both very different pieces of equipment so it's hard to suggest one over the other.

A treadmill will primarily give you a CV workout, but then again you could get the same results from running or walking outside.

An ab curler is just going to work your ab muscles, and you don't necessarily need to buy the machine to do proper sit ups. As for the advertisment you've seen, you would get the same looking abs if you did 3 minutes of sit ups a day with the machine as well as doing them without the machine.

Shahreen
while we are on the topic, :)
if one started doing situps and then
discontinued after a while, would that make your
stomach pop out more?

Your stomach muscles wouldn't 'pop' out from stopping your sit ups, but they'll become less toned and defined as time goes by.

Thanks Shahreen.:)

Shahreen,

iv been thinking to get a treadmill..

since your the expert... is there any type which you'd recommend..
are they generally good to have.

Wow miss moneybags, have you won the lottery since we last spoke?! A proper top notch treadmill won't come cheap. And the cheaper ones are rubbish. Chose your poison.

well if i compare it with a years subscription to the gym... £200-£300
the thing is im more likely to use the treadmill at home than go to the gym...??????

Well that's just it.......will you use it enough to get your value for money? At least the gym has more than one machine, and its a change of scenery.

Also, at the gym you just feel more motivated whereas at home, the treadmill will be next to the sofa ... and you may just end up plonking down in front of the tele rather than working out (speaking from experience) :D .

Ideally there is nothing like gym, you feel more motivated, different types of equipment and all. But a gym costs RS 1200/- a month, so I can never join on regular basis. Treadmil or Ab-Cruncher atleast I'll have for a life time hopefully without any added expense.

You really don't need any device. Just do regular crunches. So, to answer your question, both are equally as important. Crunches as well as cardio.

rope skipping is v good too btw fanta

fanti :flower1:

doing crunches does not mean that suddnly u lose fat… but it does make muscles… to loose weight u have to do burn more calories than u eat and it is not possible to do an exercise for the stomach and loose fat from just that part. the body doesnt work like that (everyones boy is different so they will loose fat naturaly from different places) u need to do both exercises doing crunches doesnt burn any where neaer as many calories as running (i am sure of it)

:stuck_out_tongue:

Irem
how much of rope skipping at a time?

what about a trampoline?
