Aata and Punjab's Relations to Other Provinces

So, I hear that Punjab has blocked aata (flour) from going into other provinces?

First water, and now aata.

  1. Is this true?

  2. WTF???

  3. Why is the gov’t allowing this?

  1. It's true, but after threats from some powerful Pashtuns in the establishment, Punjab has finally decided to back down after a lot of negotiations. This ban affected NWFP the most.

  2. "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

  3. The government is meant to protect the rights of Punjab. That much is clear to all who belong to the smaller provinces.

never heard of this brand of flour.

Alright, so what's up with that? I used to come here not too long ago, insisting that punjab's dominance is ruining the country. The majority is not always correct. Granted the people of punjab have no say in what's going on. Pity. Democratic society my arse. Islamic society my arse.

How can the government get away with such things? Punjab's greed will ruin us all.

This is wrong and should be stopped

^ I agree. Nothing should be sent to Taliban sympathizers. Everything should be stopped.

Now hold on just a minute. I know you have this vendetta against Punjabis, but its not just Punjab. Did you every try looking up WHY the ban was imposed in the first place? Stop making such stupid statements like 'Punjabs greed'. The rest of the 3 provinces (the provincial goverments) are just like that too, if not worse. Punjab's requests arent always welcomed by other provinces either, just take the Kalabagh dam issue for instance.

You said 'Why is the Government allowing this'. Did you know that we have something called the pronvincial assemblies in Pakistan? The Government imposed in Punjab (supposedly elected by Punjabis) are the ones behind this, not the entire government, due to the pronvincial autonomy and governance.

Why so much hate against a region. For your information, Punjab is not part of the Arrrrab terrrorist territory. Punjabi Shias, Ahmadis, and Christians have been terrorized, just like the Karachi, Quetta or Peshawar residents. What's your qualm? Are you with terrorists or with Pakistani people?

The MAToo terrorist approach towards aata in this case. No link to the news! Why to spread rumors that can further fuel anarchy?
