There is a general store in our area, which is the oldest and most popular dokaan for buying everyday stuff. It has no name. People call it by the name of its proprietor whos name is ‘Aashiq’. I have always seen this shop there but a friend who was born in this locality told me that the shop was there ever since he remember. So safely more than 3 decades after its inception the shop is there but the owner has not changed much. He is a very simple guy. with black and white hairs and a strong body. although he must be older than 50 but he is very active.
Now the strange thing about this shop that it remains open 7 days a week, From morning, for most part of the day till mid-night. But he manages his shop all alone. He has ocasional helpers but he is always there no matter what. If he has to go somewhere or for lunch or prayers in nearby masjid he pull the shutters down. His shop does a pretty decent business and he should be financially stable too
Normaly for these kind of business, people cant do it all alone they have partners in the form of some relative or trust worthy servent , because there is no holiday. and such long duty hours are impossible for person to manage all alone.
I am tottaly clueless as how a person ( who has a family ) can continuously work 7 days a week 365 days a year ? ![]()
