I dread shaving. Absolutely hate it. I get so many nicks and cuts after a shave. Applying any type of after shave treatments is horrendous cause it stings so much.
I stopped using razors because I get too many cuts from them but an electric shaver does not perform a close shave like a razor does.
What am I to do? I can’t grow a beard cause I look so ugly with one. Cannot buy an expensive shaver either.
Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
dont u use a shaving gel..if u still get cuts then use conditioner instead
Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
Why dont you try waxing? This way you wont have to keep on shaving every few days.
Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
give you face a good wash before a shave. Use a face wash and lukewarm water, do not wipe,
as glamdoll said, dont use gel, use foam instead. Gel contains alcohol and makes your skin dry that gets pulled when you use the razor second time around.
also make sure that you dont use your razor for more than 4 times maybe.

TT is a guy I think :(
That he is…the poor guy ![]()

Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
Ok, lets break it down....
You will need:
Exfoliating facial wash
A relatively new razor (do NOT use an old one!)
Shaving cream/gel
Toner (Kiehls, Zirh, Murad, Clinique, Menscience etc)
Moisturiser
1 - Wash your face and use a facial wash that has exfoliating properties in it.
2 - Squirt some shaving cream into the palm of your hand and apply evenly onto the areas that you want to shave, using circular motions.
3 - Start at the top of your beard, shaving from there, downwards towards your jawline in long and even strokes......and work your way across your face...remember to SHAVE IN ONE DIRECTION!!!! This is what will help reduce any nicks and cuts.
4 - To shave your upper lip area, stretch the upper lip over your teeth to tighten the skin, and shave in a downwards direction, again, with the grain.
5 - To shave under your chin and around the neck area, start at the bottom of your neck, shaving upwards towards your chin. Again, shave in one direction, with the grain.
TIP - Make sure you rinse the razor after each stroke!!!
6 - Wash your face with warm water, removing any left over shaving gel and inspect your face...are there any bits you have missed? If so, wet your razor and go over these using the same techniques already mentioned.
7 - The shaving part is now done. Now, use a toner (containing vitamins and emollients) instead of an alcohol based aftershave, as the latter will only dry your skin out.
8 - Moisturise.
And you're good to go!
PS: I am not a man but i have shaved my husbands facial hair. This is the technique i use.
PS2: Stubble is sexy.
I know. It was a serious suggestion you know :o I even suggested the same thing for my bro but he wont listen ![]()
Larki to face shave nahin kerti na, im not that slow thori si hi hon ![]()
Yea I honestly think you should that way you wont even end up with spots on your face from shaving. You will probably have to wax afer every 2-3 weeks. If the hair are small it doesnt even hurt. Infact dont worry it wont hurt at all unless u have a 6ft long beard ![]()
Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?

Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
don't shave ;)
Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
Yeaaa…don’t shave…jst trim…Like Maroush said..stubble is sexy ![]()
If you dread it so much just trim it and go for the rakish devil-may-care look ![]()
Here’s a few tips based on watching my dad shave when I was a lil girl…yes I was fascinated when I was younger ![]()
Run a washcloth under warm/hot water, ring it out and apply to the area you want to shave. Leave it there for a while that way your pores will open up and your skin will be softer.
The foaming tyes of shaving creams are best.
Always shave in the direction the hair is growing
Don’t use a dull blade
On the subject of waxing men’s facial hair…surely the hair there is too thick? So if you removed the actual follicle it will leave noticable holes in the skin ![]()
Re: aarrrggghhh How do I making shaving comfortable?
aside from what you heard about exfoliation, sharp blade and warm towel etc, use preshave oil, apply shave cream with a shaving brush and let it sit on your face for a couple of minutes, rinse out razor often.
get an alcohol free aftershave.
here is a link to some products, if there is an art of shaving location by you go there for the royal shave, ask the barber for tips based on your skin type, hair type etc.
