Aaqib Javed appointed Assistant Coach/Salim Malik to be appointed Chief Coach of NCA

I agree with you, may be he thinks of highly of Saleem because of his own good batting skills.... but then we all saw Miandad as coach :D

Latif reverses academy resignation

Re: Aaqib Javed appointed Assistant Coach/Salim Malik to be appointed Chief Coach of

Speechless at the state of events.

Although I must say I am extremely happy that Ijaz Butt stepped up to the plate and finished the drama before it had hit the climax. Who knows what could have happened. Maybe Ijaz Butt gave Malik his personal opinion and Malik, with all good intentions, hit the ground running.

Rashid is an idiot, period. Remember when he was shafted in favor of Moin, how he started crying, and even accused the board of being racist, and even sought the pir of karachi's support. Enough said. If you think Malik didnt deserve to become a coach because of his lack of experience, then why are you siding with Rashid, because Rashids protests have to do with the allegations, not lack of experience.
and Malik did not deserve to be handed the post of cheif coach of NCS, not just because of his alleged (we all know that they were not just allegations)involvement in Match fixing but also the face that what credentials he has as coach???
Even though this isnt a high up national coaching position, but to draw a comparison, what credentials does Lawson, Miandad, or any other cricketer have? Did they goto some coaching institutes?
Mudasar, who he is replacing has been a coach for over 15 years now he was coach of pak on more than one occasions. What coaching experience does malik have, he could never play 100% to his own potential for almost two decaded, i do not consider him good enough to be head of NCA
And Mudassar played to his potential when he was in the team? haha he was another Ramiz Raja when it came to batting. Maliks batting career, hell perhaps even as a bowler was MUCH better than Mudassar Nazar. So, lets see if Malik becomes a better coach than Mudassar Nazar, you have to pass the torch, or do you plan on using Nazar forever? Again, their performances dont matter anymore, which is why we dont look at their 'playing potential' or 'big beer bellies' when choosing them. Malik was a gifted batsman, and the young batsmen could def. learn some tricks from him.
Malik's appointment was as political as Musharaf's or any other politicians appointments of people who they liked.

Can you prove that? I on the other hand have ample proof about Latif the whiner's political connections (from a few years ago)

KARACHI: The ongoing tussle between former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif and the Pakistan cricket authorities could snowball into a major issue after a meeting held by some Karachi-based parliamentarians with Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Monday.

According to details, Parliamentarians Dr Farooq Sattar, Haider Rizvi and Babar Ghouri during their meeting with the premier held an extensive discussion on cricket affairs and particularly those relating to Karachi.

The parliamentarians conveyed to the Prime Minister that they were disappointed with the recent announcements of the Board regarding disciplinary action against Rashid Latif for giving an interview on a television channel.

The parliamentarians wanted to know what crime had the former Pakistan captain committed by raising his voice against the wrong policies of the Board?

They felt that instead of talking about a ban on Rashid the Board officials should meet with him and find out about his grievances as he had every right to feel disgruntled at being dropped from the Pakistan team for no valid reason.

They also informed the Premier that the Board was involved in a court case with the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) and in many cricket areas Karachi umpires, officials and former players were not getting a fair deal.

They requested Prime Minister Jamali to convey their concerns about the Board to the President who is the chief patron of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The three senior parliamentarians conveyed to the Premier that since cricket was a major sport and passion of the Pakistani people, the Pakistan Cricket Board and its officials and selectors should be accountable for their decisions and actions.

The Pakistan board has issued a show cause notice to Rashid for his comments on a recent television interview and a meeting of its disciplinary committee is expected soon to hear out the charges of violating the code of conduct against him.

Thats your personal opinion about Rashid, i never saw man lose his spot to moin in11 years on his international career because of rashid's lake of performace. And even if he went to someone to get support then to me thats nothing compared to selling your country's honor.

Also i dont have proof, but can u prove that Malik didnt try to get political people involved for last 8 years to have his ban over turned??

Rashid's protest was based on past allegations its because he doesn't have to prove his experience to ANYONE, may be u r forgetting that rashid has been running cricket academy for years in karachi and has excellent coaching experience, he was the one who spotted Sami in 2000 and pushed for his first class debut, Kaneria, the Wk pak tried in 2000 in one tournament in Singapore, and to an extent Fawad allam too. If he was an idiot or a cheap shot he would mention his experience but he is not and he is protesting with valid point, which i think anybody who followed Pak cricket would not disagree with.

i am actually disappointed to see that you do not consider being head of NCA, the only cricket academy in pak, which is under PCB and which is the best way to groom young, budding cricketers in domestic cricket, a position of any value. Oh well but u can have an opinion, nothing wrong with that.

but to draw a comparison, what credentials does Lawson, Miandad, or any other cricketer have? Did they goto some coaching institutes?

Javed didn't need any coaching institution to be known as coach. he groomed many player during his career. The guy you are in favor of (malik) wouldn't have been half of what he turned out to be as batsmen if it wasn't for javed being his mentor. Agian, i am disappointed that you are draw a comparison between Malik and Javed or Lawson.

lawson himself was captain of NSW and coached them before coming to pak.

i don't see why you would compare Mudassar's bowling to Malik's to prove Malik a candidate for heading NCA, Malik was a part timer and Mudassar was an allrounder, there is no comparison, and definitely malik was NOT much better than Mudassar

Again where rashid's political interests lie has nothing and shouldn't have nothing to do with his coaching abilities or his stand against Malik's appointment as head of NCA.

I do not see any reason why on a cricket forum, you would bring rashid's political interests while defending malik's candidacy

MODS:Even though Rashid is not head of NCA, why dont we have a poll asking people who would be a better candidate to head NCA or for any coaching position in NCA between Malik and Rashid.
rashid who has been active in cricket coaching regardless of being in the team or out or malik, who spock believes to be better bowler than Mudassar and gifted player which should make him the best candidate for behing head of Pakistan's best cricket academy?
