Azad Kashmir, Abaseen, Pothowar.

DM Digital Network has confirmed to BizAsia.co.uk that it has sold one of its EPG slots to Aap TV, formely known as Aapna Channel.
Aapna Channel, which closed down at the end of March will be back in its new avtar, with the core focus of its programme policy remaining to inform and entertain the Kashmiri and Pahari speaking community.
DM News Plus, which broadcasts on Sky Digital channel 805 (803 from 7th July in new Sky EPG reshuffle) under the label DM Gold will make way for Aap TV on Tuesday 8th July.
In a statement exclusively to BizAsia.co.uk, Dr Malik, Chairman of DM Digital Network, said, “DM News Plus UK is changing its name to Aap TV from the 8th July 2008. DM Digital Network will no longer hold shares or any interest in the EPG 805. The new EPG will belong to Aap TV under EPG 803.”

His name is Zafer Tanweer, I know he is some relation to the former chairman.
EPG slots are sold through 3rd parties,although that Dr Malik sold the slot, the procedure of buying and selling is done through 3rd parties. most EPG slots are being sold for a 6 figure some.
Even if i did know how much it was sold for, I would not publish it over hear.

What I don't get is why would they buy a news slot from DM, I mean most of the time aapna played repeats. They weren't exactly short of any spare airtime on their own transmission.

They bought a slot so that they could launch the channel, its got nothing to do with amount of airtime that they have avaialabe.
Aapna or Aap TV has brought the channel space, like buying a house, they brought that slot channel number 803 (after reshuffle). Basically Dr L Malik has sold one of his channel space off to Aap TV.
