Main is individualistic approach.. Hum is collective. When you are used to use Hum, you always convey a message that you appreciate teamwork.. Hum ne ye kia, hum ye kar sakte hain sounds positive than Maine ye kia, ain ye kar sakta hoon....

I understand its a personal choice to use mai or hum.
But I honestly don't get why view it in that way ? Why see mai as ana parast when its grammatically correct ? Jub single person ne kiya hai...acha ya bura kaam...tou mai isstemal krne mai kaunsi ana parasti ?

Its usage in different situations make it bad... not necessarily egoist all the times.... Basically 'Main' is not negative until it is used in the sense 'Main hi'

This makes sense...but any term...even hum can be used in an egoistic manner.
So why the bias with mai...why look down at people who use mai instead of hum which is even grammatically more correct.

look down nahiiN...maiN to vo explain kar rahaa thaa jo hamaare ilaaqe meN aur shaahi maHloN meN bolaa jaataa thaa. if you lived in Lucknow area you would know what i am talking about...Khair :)
