The internal problems amongst the management led to the closure of Aapna channel. As a result 3 new channels have emerged started by the old management of Aapna TV. These being:

  • Aap TV – already testing on Sky channel 803
  • KBC & KBC 2 which also started video testing on Sky – see below:

Upcoming Kashmiri channels KBC and KBC 2 (Kashmir Broadcasting Corporation) have begin video testing off the Sky EPG ahead of their official launches.

The channels, which officially launch on Sky Digital next week will become the second and third channel respectively with a focus on Kashmiri programmes. Aap TV has been available on the platform for the past few weeks.

The KBC channels are being launched by the Afsar Group from Birmingham. Whilst KBC will be added to the Sky EPG next week, live programming on the channels dont begin until Sunday 24th August.

It will be the first Asian TV service to simultaneously launch a secondary channel. Currently it’s unclear what the second channel, known as KBC2, will broadcast. However EPG data testing off the Sky EPG of KBC2 suggests it will be a timeshift channel, telecasting shows one hour later to its flagship service. A first for Asian TV in the UK.

Tests of KBC can be viewed in the following way:

→ Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
→ System Setup (4)
→ Add Channels (4)
→ Enter the frequency: 12.525 (V), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
→ Find Channels and Press SELECT
→ Highlight “53275” service and press Yellow button.
→ Return to Services Menu
→ Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
→ “53275” should be listed and available

Tests of KBC 2 can be viewed in the following way:

→ Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
→ System Setup (4)
→ Add Channels (4)
→ Enter the frequency: 12.525 (V), FEC 2/3, Symbol Rate 27500
→ Find Channels and Press SELECT
→ Highlight “55111” service and press Yellow button.
→ Return to Services Menu
→ Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
→ “55111” should be listed and available

Yes the picture quality is far better than Aap TV.

Both KBC channels hav begun transmiiting on Sky Channels 836 and 837.

The AAP channel still seems to be testing, haven't come across a channel which takes so long to test.

My early impressions are that KBC will be success and has more potential than than AAP tv.

GOD DAYM IM FEELING THIS CHANNEL, i like the logo and the slogan making the invisible , Visible haha luvin dat. whats everybody elses views on this new channel ? (picture clartiy is good isnt it?)

Agreed bro KBC looks good so far unlike Aap.

Did any one see the Birmingham Eid Mela last night ? Famaliar and known people were being interviewed at the end of the programme.

I'm not too sure about KBC,

I don't understand having two channels with the same content...

9X and 9xm is cool as you know what it is all about!

As for current content, it's all the old Aapna content

Whats wrong with KBC?
The reason that they have got 2 channels is becasue the KBC2 will become an +1 hour channel, i.e programmes shown on KBC will be shown hour later on KBC2.

Yes yesterday they were broadcasting, the same content due to some technical difficulties, plus KBC 2 is the channel that is broadcasted on other satellite.

The reason that old Aapna content is being broadcasted is becasue, the programming team is from Aapna.

It was repeated 30minuites ago on KBC 1

Whats happening with Aap? Are they still doing their tests?

The sooner this channel closes the better as it looks more crap than the DM Digital.

Rock express, Aaptv is on test phase at the moment, i hear they are looking to go live in 2 weeks, the reason for their content has been limited (poor) is there offices where broken into and their content was stolen... Tell me KBC TV, you appear to stream old Aapna content .... where did you get the content from?
