Re: aamitabh bachan

  • bemisaal
  • coolie
  • deewar
  • sharaabi
  • kaala pathar

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ glad to hear that

i havent seen bemisaal...is that any good? Well i guess it must be, since it has amitabh :)
I noticed...these days, the new movies dont have any great dialogues anymore...its kinda sad. How come they cannot make a new movie with good dialogues anymore?

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ cus kader khan doesnt write anymore? do u realise, all those old movies, especially the amitabh ones, were penned by kader khan?

bemisaal, yeap, i loved it. It's not a very famous one.. but the acting and dialogues are amazing.

actually a few more

  • jurmana
  • anand
  • mard (hehe)

Re: aamitabh bachan

errr… have over 30 movies of his on DVD… hard to say which one’s my favorite but Agneepath and Main Azad HooN are among the ones I see right in front of me on my shelf right now and here are dialogs I remember off the bat:

Agneepath:

  1. “Eh Kaancha, saala bandook bhi dikhata hai aur peeche bhi hathta hai” :hehe:

  2. “Yeh ghalat cheez banaya telephone… aadmi udhar… sochta kuuch hai… bolta kuuch hai… karta kuuch hai”

Main Azad HooN (every single dialog in this movie is a masterpiece - Amitabh’s delivery just adds further delight):

"manta hooN… meiN manta hooN…
Chalees baras mey aap harr insaan ko dow waqt ki roti nahi de sakey… koi baat nahi… Chalees baras mey aap harr insaan ko tann dhakne ke liye aik jora kapra nahi de sakey koi baat nahi…
Chalees baras mey aap harr insaan ko sarr chupaane ke liye aik chat nahi de sake koi koi baat nahi…taleem nahi de sake… rozgaar nahi de sake… dawa ilaaj nahi de sake… koi baat nahi
…lekin [takes out a bottle of filthy water]
Chalees baras mey agar aap insaan ko aik glass paani nahi de sakte tow kya karr sakte heiN aap!!"

-----------------------
Other favourites:

“Hum jahaaN pey kharey ho jaatey hein, line wohiN se shuru hoti hai.” - Kaaliya

“Mai jo bhi hooN, is waqt tumharey maalik ka maalik hooN baitey!” - Shakti (amazing movie as well!)

“Aisa to Aadmi Life mein Doich time bhaagta hai. Olympic ka race ho, yaa Police ka case ho. Tum kisliye bhaagta hai bhai?” - Amar Akbar Anthony

Re: aamitabh bachan

ohh and Furqan since you like Sharabi, this is the one I remember from it:

“MucheyN hoN to Nathulal jaisi hoN, warna na hoN.” :hehe:

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ hahaha.. awesome lines.

Re: aamitabh bachan

yeah saddzz I’m the self-proclaimed biggest fan - haha…
I had a couple of friends in school who used to compete in imitating him, and when I was a lil younger - around 10ish… we actually had dhishum dhishum style fights too - broke a few bones/tooth too

My only regret is that he shouldn’t have done flicks like Insaniyat, Lal Badshah and a couple of others :frowning: which blotch his otherwise brilliant performances.

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ haha i used to do that too… but i used to pretend i was his heroin  im so sad…

yeah i saw insaniyat… ummz pretty crap i must say. Lets just put it as a bad patch. His other movies, like Ankhein, Dev, Black prove that his one awesome awesome actor.. and i doubt anyone else has the same capability… actually, Abhishek just might

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ yeah that's what I take it as... simply a bad patch, but I know some people who watched those movies and formed an opinion of him :( - he's done so many good movies even in the 2000s' - Suryavansham, Khaki, Dev, Black etc.

I like Abhishek's acting, but naah, he has a very very long way to go if he is to reach Big B's repute or make it even close to that.

Re: aamitabh bachan

Toofan......nothing else comes close

Re: aamitabh bachan

haha man… nuffin comes close to Toofan and Ajooba in tackiness…
ok so the list goes… Toofan, Ajooba, Insaniyat, Lal Badshah in his worst movies list. any more?

Re: aamitabh bachan

i didnt watch any of his movies during that time… but yeah, u cant form an opinion just like that! hes a legend for goodness sakes… his first movie i saw was Coolie.. and ever since then, theres been no going back..

do u recall his “Desh Premi”? i love that song he dances too

ja jaldi bhaag ja…
nahi baba nahin..
bolta hoon bhaag ja..
nahin baba nahin..
barhi maar khaye ga..
koi baat nahin…

haha and from coolie

lamboo jee lamboo jee
haan bolo tingu jee..

ok i should go hide now

actually, do u recall his “Akela”.. although not a very famous movie, i remember liking it quite a bit.. and “Ajooba”..oh ho and “Khuda Gawah”

i love the part where he goes sar zameen hindustan.. Assalam o Alaikum…

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ well saddz… the first movie I saw of his was Satte Pe Satta and Mahaan in close succession - I woulda been around 5 or 6…

Coolie has a special significance since one of my brothers uttered “lambu jee” as his first word :hehe:

yes I remember Desh Premi… one of his average movies from what I recall. Yes… Akela was a big flop too but much better than the other couple of movies he starred in at the time.

and yes Khuda Gawah! :k: :k: one of my favs.
Roshni Gar Khuda ko ho manzoor, Aandhiyon mein chiragh jalte hain

Re: aamitabh bachan

hehe.. yeah I just liked the songs from Desh Premi..

Yeah, I think i was too young to know whether Akela was a flop... he was cute in it so thats all that mattered at the time..

hehe.. thats cute. I used to sing lamboo jee all the time.. especially to my younger bro

yeap yeap! i know that line from Khuda Gawah.. i loved every scene from that movie... especially towards the end when he falls off his horse.. and the older sri devi start singing

tu wapis aaye ga
yeh wada tha tera...

sigh

Re: aamitabh bachan

we had an Afghan cab driver who used to pick us up from school daily... his name was Badshah Khan... hehe... he was so ecstatic over Amitabh's name in the movie and he used to sing Oye Loshe Oye Loshe all the time :)

just remembered one more:
Aazmaish Kari Hai... Imtehaan Mushkil Hai... Lekin Hosla Buland hai. :)

Re: aamitabh bachan

^ hahaha.. thats cute. I wanted to be sri devi.. hehe..

these days, theres nothign that completely grabs ur attention (besides Black).. back in those days, movies were actually good.. even if the clothes were bad, but dialogues were good, so was the music.. and the actors actually acted..

I loved Zeenat Aman, Parveen, Mumtaz..

ok back to amitabh… how bout his “Parvarish”, “Yaarana”, “Lawaris”, “Majboor”, “Shakti” (wooooww)

Umar, what ar eu doing! im tempted to go to the shops now and buy Khuda Gawah (the guy wouldnt sell it to me though! how rude)

Re: aamitabh bachan

yep... seen them all... have all of'em on DVD except Parvarish.

You don't have Khuda Gawah in your collection?? how can you not? go buy it... steal it... :)
that and Main Azad HooN are his best movies of the 90s' !! In fact, I'm just gonna put on the latter to watch while I try to fall asleep.

Re: aamitabh bachan

ohh and I think Furqan's gonna be mighty pi$$ed that we ruined his thread.
Sorry Furqan yaar - two big-time fans here.
Woh kehte heiN naa... khoob guzre gee jo mil baitheyN ge deewane dow :)

Re: aamitabh bachan

hehe.. i know!! i should be ashamed of myself. Actually im banned from buying anything, dvd’s especially. My parents know my junooni-pan.. especially when it comes to amitabh.. Ive gotta save for other things… :halo:

oh i have Parvarish.. ! I quite disliked Vinod Khanna’s character, but then again, i dislike vinod khanna regardless of his roles..

I should get mein azaad hoon.. its been awhile since i saw that..

I love his Kaala Pathar. He doesnt have much to say in that, but aaaah hes good
