Re: Aamir Sohail
Both Miandad and Sohail refuse to give any credit to Woolmer, when they damn well know that Woolmer has transformed the team into such a united and fighting bunch.
Re: Aamir Sohail
He was an ** average** opener. Since Pakistan has had such a horrible record of good opening batsmen over the years, Aamir comes across as a decent opener. Saeed Anwar was a good opener with a good track record. Aamir record as a player is not very impressive. He averaged 31.86 in ODI's and 35.28 in Tests, which in all honesty is a below average record. Compare this to most openers of formidable teams and you'll see the difference. A decent batsmen average 40 + in test cricket with class acts like Sachin, Dravid, Inzi, Lara averaging over 50 but a good player still should average around 40. I understand stats dont tell the whole story, but they do tell a big part of it.
Re: Aamir Sohail
Aamer had no credibility to begin with. Miandad by not acknowledging Woolmer's contribution will lose his credibility as well. At least with me.
Re: Aamir Sohail
Anwar carried Sohail’s ass most of the time, to be brutally honest. I completely agree.
Re: Aamir Sohail
Instead of acknowledging Woolmer, Miandad keeps talking about how the team is still using “his” practice techniques and how “he” worked so hard to correct all the players. What a joke.
Re: Aamir Sohail
I had to break my curfew on Amir Sohail. I always liked to remember him for his opening stands with Saeed Anwar and nothing else. Any thing else he claims to be is like a monkey climbing a cactus and enjoys it too.
Re: Aamir Sohail
we had local coach for sometime he had his own issues, Amir Sohail should do what Some1 suggested for Indian team i.e. chullu bhar pani mai doob marna. Even with supposedly this language barrier between Woolmer and some non-English speakers this coach has transformed this team into a great unit, what else do such morons want?
Re: Aamir Sohail
I heard some of his comments alongwith Miandad. Both were complimenting each others efforts during their rein, admitting their differences as well as their desire to do well for the country. They accused Woolmer for introducing language barrier in the team and talking only to people who know english (Oh My God)! Aamir had the audacity to claim he found many current cricketers playing in the team.
Lets take a look at woolmer. Both Miandad and Mohammad Ilyas had a dig at him but he played Faisal Iqbal and Imran Farhat proving he doesnt play players based on likes and dislikes with their uncles.
That program on Geo is good only for few laughs.
Re: Aamir Sohail
Guys, you are thinking way too much. There is no such thing as Miandad Vs. Woolmer. They are good friends, played county together and when Woolmer was chosen as a coach of the team, Javed invited him to dinner and gave him his support. Criticizing is a part of the game, that's what former captains and greats do.
