Shinoo, can you come teach me how to make roti like that, its perfect.

tonight’s dinner :yummy:

kalay chanay and tofu with zeera rice..

Today even i cooked Tofu with Peas and Bell Pepper  It was ok

and can we cook Tofu with Garbanzo Beans or some other Daal ??

how does the tofu taste ? like paneer? and u only put fried tofu in the salan? or does it need some cooking?

looks deliciouso!

what’s the green powder stuff?

Its sooka (dried) poodina (mint), normally I make a full raita, as the food was only for me, I didnt bother with it, so just sprinkled on the yoghurt. :)

Shinoo your rotis are perfectly round.

NaMaan we dont like pheekha food :D

The plain tofu doesn’t have any taste .tofu is like a sponge it absorbs the taste of whatever you cook it in. I made it 1st time and it turned out so goood .. We all loved it.

Re: Aaj kya pakaaya/khaaya

MASH KI DAAL:

mash ki daal....1 cup(soaked in water for an hour or so)
1 medium onion...chopped
1 medium tomato...chopped
1 tsp garlic paste
almost a 2-3 inch piece of ginger root....coarsely chopped
1-2 green chillies...whole
spices..salt,red chillies,zeera,corainder powder and haldi
green cilantro for garnish....

*slightly fry the chopped onion.when a bit pink add the tomatoes and all the spices, and bhoonify the masala.when done add the ginger and garlic and pre-soaked daal and the green chillies....add some water(i did not measure it,just eye balled it...i think it was almost 3/4th of a cup)....just enough that will be absorbed by the daal and not be too fluidy in the end....
either pressure cook it on low flame for 5 mins or put on dum on low flame ,covered till the daal is done....(i pressure cooked it though)
when done,garnish and serve........:)
