kis umer main larkion ki shaadi horahi hai, on average?
Some aunties were saying that parents in Pakistan want their daughters to focus on their education and careers, and are therefore moving away from marrying them off at a young age. But at the same time, the boys are looking for young girls freshly matriculated, w/out any outside exposure.
So, tell me…whats happening these days?

I think girls are still getting married young. I have heard girls getting engaged at age 16 and some getting married at age 21 or so. But then again I see girls getting married at age 25....so I guess it depends on why ur family is waiting or not waiting.

but yeah i would say mid twenties is normal for gals in middle class educated families
most girls r getting a masters/mba/engineering/doctor degree n a lot of girlz r working

Yes, in middle class educated families the median age of girls getting married has certainly risen from say a few decades ago. But I haven't noticed guys marrying metric pass.
One of my cousins who isn't a college graduate just went home from Canada to get married to a MSc Psyc.

ahmedjee, every other girl in Pakistan has an MA or MSc in English Lit or Psychology.

In my father's side of the family, women have been getting married late after qualifying and getting jobs for over 60 years.
My grandmother got married in 1943 at 27 after getting her MA, and my two phuppos got married in their mid-late twenties, both after getting their masters and getting durable careers (that they've never left despite having kids).
