Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

inna lilahai hi wa inelehi raajeoon

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

Brilliant method actor. I still remember his portrayal of Genghis Khan (Khaqan-e-Azam).
I did not see him on TV for a very long time.

Thank you....you bought up something I really forgot! and indeed he did that portrayal remarkably.

To add something more--which slipped my mind...ZAHOOR AHMED had produced, directed and acted in stage play NIZAM SAQQAH umpteenth times......since 1959.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

indeed a sad news:(

Thats saddening news! That reminded me of so many plays that I'd been seeing since childhood.
Especially a very special way of his speaking and a typical voice... May ALLAH bless him with jannah.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

he used to play very convincing villains. May he rest in peace, Ameen.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilehe Ra'jeoon.
I remember his role of "Noor uddin Zangi"
He was a very good writer too.
Allah Zahoor Sahab kee maGHfirat farmaye. Aameen.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

indeed a very sad news.may ALLAH gv him jannat ul firdous.
i feel so sad that the tv channels only showed a 1 minute package in news.no special programspaying tribute to him, although he was a legendry actor of pakistan.
Instead they showed a whole program on indian movie releases, reviews n praising their actors.i hate this policy of pakistani tv channels.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

Indeed a fine actor!
Rest in peace.

Assalaam-o-alaikum ArJay Bhai (hope u won’t mind me calling you “bhai”),

It was so sad to hear the demise of Zahoor Ahmed. He was a great actor of his time. I still vaguely remember his role in Khuda Ke Basti ('69 version) which was produced by Ishrat Ansari (if i remember correctly) and I happen to be his cousin. May Allah shower His endless blessings upon late Zahoor Ahmed’s soul. His excellent acting in the role of Gangez Khan was great.

I have been following some posts between you and other forum members on various threads about some great PTV classics and it brings me some good old memories of my childhood. I was kid when Khuda ke Basti ('69 and the later version) were aired. Actually I do recall many great actors such as Neelofar Abbasi, late Muhammad Yousuf, late Subhani Ba Younus and many others who were present at the wedding of Ishrat Ansari and Shezori was being aired those days and its popularity was hitting the skies back then.

Arjay, I have a great respect for your Dad and I hope he’s doing great now. He’s a very precious and priceless assets of Pakistan. Please do convey my regards to him. May Allah bless him, you and your family. Hope to keep in touch with you via this forum. You take care of yourself. Allah Hafiz.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

it's a very sad news.
We have been seeing all of those actors on tv since our childhood, and when i hear the news of the death of any one of them i feel sad as as i have lost someone i actually know like jamshed ansari, shafi mohammed shah, and now zahoor ahmed.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

innah lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiyoon

its so sad.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

With Zahoor Ahmed's demise KTV has lost another of its assets. His acting talent will be greatly missed.
Does anyone know the name of the actor who played the doctor's role in Ankahi(bespectacled with wig).In other KTV dramas he usually played the vakeel.
Very soft spoken and humble gentleman,I am sure Arjay knows him.

Re: Aah ZAHOOR AHMED

By the way,Arjay, are you sure Uncle Urfi was telecast in 1972?I ask this because I think it was aired later than 1972.I say this because of a family incident in December 1972 and Uncle Urfi couldn't have been aired in 1972.
Correct me if I am wrong.
