It is lie that ‘Afia’ and ‘Prisoner 650’ are same. Reason:
Moazzam Begg was moved to Bagram detention centre in Feb 2002, where he stayed detained until Feb 2003 when he was moved to Guantanamo. When Moazzam Begg got released from Guantanamo in Jan 2005, he wrote a book ‘Enemy Combatant’. In that book, Moazzam Begg mentioned of a lady whose cry he use to hear quite regularly while at Bagram. He named her in his book ‘Prisoner 650’ and referred to her as ‘Grey Lady of Bagram’ as well as ‘Ghost prisoner’ (because USA never accepted that there was woman as Prisoner at Bagram when Moazzam Begg believes there was, whom he and many prisoners heard).
Hence, it is impossible that ‘Prisoner 650’ could be Afia as it is impossible that Moazzam Begg could write of Afia who got missing at the end of March 2003, because Moazzam Begg was not even in Afghanistan when Afia got missing.
Anyhow, when Yvonne Ridley read the book written by Moazzam Begg, in her enthusiasm mistook “Prisoner 650’ as Afia and started claimed her as Afia, even though her claim is illogical.
