As per the rumors for last two months, Aafaq Ahmed is to change course in politics and likely to join MQM again.
It is also rumored that Aamir Khan’s joining was a test case by both him and Aafaq to save their future. All of Aafaq’s close bodyguards and loyals are murdered and the party was having difficulty recruiting young members. Most of their activists from 90s are now in their 40s/50s and there was no point of running the party with new recruites. Haqiqi lost territories to MQM due to lack of man power and effective representation in the areas it once had strong hold on.

KARACHI: Mohajir Qaumi Movement Haqiqi (MQM-H) chairman Afaq Ahmed said today that he has no plans to join Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Mr. Afaq clarified that the rumours about his plans to join MQM- Altaf are rumours only. He never belonged to MQM-A nor will ever be.
The MQM- H leader said that he never went to London and is currently residing in Dubai.
He repeated his old resolve to serve his community i.e Mohjair by saying that he always keeps Pakistan and his community’s interest close to his heart.
Answering a question regarding military operation against Taliban, he said that those fighting Pakistan Army should be fought with while others can be brought to table.
So the deal was not on table or didn't go through.
I am wondering if he has chosen the third option to remain in exile and silent like Mustafa Kamal.
His statement's word didn't contain any harsh words against Altaf, that could mean that he might have sought pardon from London which is granted and is asked to live abroad in silence until further notice.
I am speculating because this is certain that he has serious security issue while living in Karachi and without MQM protection he feels his game can be over any day.
