Aadhay Teetar Aadhay Bater

People who know multiple languages should speak only in one language at a time.
I was talking to my son in mixture of Urdu and English all the time for 3/4 years and now the language he speaks is Aadhi tetar aadhi bater.

Fortunately, I realized my mistake and stopped my habit and recently I have started speaking in only Urdu with him, when he starts the conversation in English, first I correct his English sentence by saying it correctly in English and then I say it in Urdu and then I carry on talking in pure Urdu.

It’s a bit of a hassel for me to talk in complete Urdu but the results are amazingly brilliant. He has started talking more and more everyday.

Sometimes I feel shy speaking Urdu when outside, Pakistanis stare at me for speaking in pure Urdu, for example " iss hawai jahaz ka rang laal nahi balkay nila hai" lolz.

Re: Aadhay Teetar Aadhay Bater

reminds me when my mother used to say Esa ka gwah Mosa

that was when we both sisters used to take each other’s side and favor each other in everything :hehe:

Re: Aadhay Teetar Aadhay Bater

Pakistanis have this bad habbit of staring at females without for any reason. Language is just another excuse for them

bewaqoof pakistanis

It goes with every language, I only used Urdu as an example, the point is not to mix two languages when you speak.

:cb: kuch nahi :cb:

P.S. i m the worst one in lingo :bummer:

Urdu , Punjabi , Chinese , Japanese and English mix :frowning:

specially when i talk to my friends and bros bk home :hehe:

friend aur bros ki khair hai…apnay bachon kay saath aik waqt main aik hi language main baat kerna.

yah sure , but first their wud be mom have to learn proper Urdu and Punjabi :cb:

P.S. now dont tell her :frowning:

Re: Aadhay Teetar Aadhay Bater

We speak a mixture of a few different languages at home and I am proud and amazed at how good my daughter's urdu is.

Does she watch Urdu dramas/progms on tv? My nephew (born and raised in Britain) speaks perfect hindi urdu because he watches zee tv and indian movies.

Re: Aadhay Teetar Aadhay Bater

lolz @ hawaii jahaz.

its true Hareem... if you dont emphasis the use of the language, they'll never catch on later in life.

I was joking, mixing the languages while agreeing with you. and then whole stating that ppl should speak, read and write urdu, i close with thanking them in emglish.

aik toh samjhana parrta hai tum logon ko.

Re: Aadhay Teetar Aadhay Bater

Talk about mixing.

My kids are learning five languages at a time, Urdu, English, Punjabi, Arabic and French

She doesn't but we do so obviously she picks up from there too.
