So unique and cute! What kinds of games and stuff did you guys play? and what was the dress code?

Re: A Whimsical Mad Hatter's Tea Party

lovely! great job!

Re: A Whimsical Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Thanks guys :) I wish I could plan a bridal shower everyday. Love them!!
@pinkgrapefruit - Games:
- Can't say certain words throughout the shower (wedding, bride, groom, etc)
- Wedding Word Jumble
- Wedding Pictionary
- Toilet Paper Bride - we added a twist. Everyone had to incorporate the Mad Hatter/Alice in Wonderland theme into their outfits
- Paper Plate Bride - everyone had to put paper plates on their head and draw the bride on her wedding day. Obviously, the catch is that since the plate is on your head, you can't see what you're drawing!
- How Well Does The Bride Know The Groom: I asked my brother in law 25 questions prior to the event. We asked my sister the same questions on the shower and for every question she got wrong, she had to put a gum ball in her mouth. It was hilarious because she got quite a few wrong so her mouth was stuffed.

**Dress Code:
**We told everyone to dress for a mad hatter's tea party. Sooo it was upto them if they wanted to dress whimsical or pretty (fit for a tea party). Most girls wore dresses (lots of lace!) with head pieces (check out the last picture of my sister on the blog) ... others went all out and created their own hats! We had one girl who dressed as the Queen of Hearts (complete with a collar she made from a deck of cards) and a girl who dressed up as the Mad Hatter (she's in the picture titled "Games and Guests"). She made her own hat, did crazy makeup, and wore 2 different funky socks.
My sister (the bride) wore a teal/green dress with pearl accessories and a big hat with net and flowers. I wore a coral dress with black lace around the neck, sheer black tights with flower patterns and a headband that had a tiny hat with net on it. I added some of my own flare to the hat: I added feathers (pink and orange) and 3 cards!

This party was SO cute! I can't believe all the homemade pieces... I told my sister I wanted an Alice in Wonderland themed shower as well haha.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your sister's cake.. I messaged asking her about her rates because they look so fun and delicious!

Re: A Whimsical Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Excellent. I think of doing tings like this for weekend parties... but gosh can never do. No time :(

Great job !!!

It would be great if you wrote down how long before you started planning and how long before the actual party did you start with the decoration etc etc

Re: A Whimsical Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Thanks @terebina - you should totally have one too! She's actually moving to the States soon soooo not sure if she'll be able to. I'll tell her to keep an eye out for your email :)

@payal - thanks! Not exactly sure how long before we started planning because my head is always spinning with wedding ideas. Soo we've had the idea in our head for a while and we actively started searching for ideas maybe 4ish months ago. We started with the decor in January - mainly my parts because I was going away on vacation for all of February. Since we did ALOT of homemade stuff and we bought practically everything, I'd say you need 4 weekends (this includes looking for all the cutlery, decor pieces, making everything etc)

Re: A Whimsical Mad Hatter's Tea Party

I really should do a party like this, but I'd never manage to make it as cool as this :/
