A Generalisation? Isn’t this what we are trying to stop? Just because somebody follows the faith of Islam doesn’t make them a terrorist right?

Amethyst, Just b'cos a few like to impose their form of Islam on the rest does'nt mean all muslims are the same does it? ( restructure of your own words to CheGuvera).
It's a shame that just b'cos a few muslims, who are highlighted by the media, want to impose their extreme views, it would make u want to not believe in a multiculturism. Obviously, you have every right to your own views, beliefs and opinions, but it sounds strange coming from somone who themselves were born in one country and has settled in another. Next time u visit England, try to visit some of the areas where there are predominently muslims and then work out for your self wheather the majority are well integrated into the British society or not. You'll get the odd rotten apples but try to observe the majority..Muslims like myself attempt to fulfil all the basic principles of Islam ( while living in Britain), ie, praying 5 times a day, fasting in the month of ramadhan,believing in one God, Contributing towards charity for the needy and attempting to go for pilgrimage once in a life time if affordable. along with all these i have managed to integrate with my fellow non muslims and am accustomed to their culture. what i do not do is mingle if they are going out for a drink with a view of getting "pissed" ( as they love to call it here), as my religion does'nt allow it.
As per my previous mssge, i've hardly come across individuals who attempt to impose thier views in schools or work places ( in my experience). My son goes to a great school with a diverse intermix of faiths. One hears of subtle grieviences but not to the extent that u've portrayed. If one does not feel comfortable with not mixing their daughters with men during swimming then let them stay at home and respect their views as long as they do not harm u in anyway.
My dear, Islam has 2 prongs. One is the duty towards God ( prayers etc), and the other is a duty toward ones fellow human ( muslim or non muslim). Each one is incomplete without the other.
If you would like to know about the true definition of multiculturism or multifaiths living side by side, then pick up a book on Prophet Mohammeds (PBUH) life and interaction with his fellow muslims and non muslims in Makkah an Medina. You might be in for a surprise.
Think for moment, imagine if your wish became true and you were able to send all people from differnt ethnicities and faiths back to where they came from. would that solve all your problems.It would'nt would it? you would then have a different set of problems. What step would you take next then? Kick out all the criminals to a far away island????.
Sweetheart, you have to face the problems head on in a logical fashion with a view of understanding each others viewpoints in a respectable manner. The IRA has been able to it after all these. Why can't others do it?
And by the way, thank you for confirming that the Americans went into Iraq due to their own fears and insecurities b'cos of their previous policies rather than to get rid of an oppressive ruler who was oppressive even when they supported him and supplied him with all the goodies.

It appears that amethyst was only interested in expressing her own views and opinions without talking about possible ways of tackling them as she has shyed away from all questions/queries posed to her.
Its a shame really, cos i thought that we may have been in for an interesting discussion.

well this is getting funnier that you dont have straighten out your facts . Weapons of mass destruction is not a candy that can be given to the other country in the hand to keep till i need it . Syria’s Bases were given to americans , whole kuwait is still full of american army, Iraq had a decade of war with iran, Libya is like a faithful ally to america .. then who do u expect took the candy of so called weapons of mass destruction. All that americans found was rebles.
you say that they have gone there with the slogan of democracy on the cry of iraqi leaders. well what is the army doing in the holy mosque then. Why in the hell the holy places of Muslims are being destroyed. What in the hell they think when they disrespect Quran in Gutanamo Bay. These are my questions which i really think you dont have any answer to. Then you expect a Muslim to never be offended even if he is being treated like a street dog.
