A Wedding which cost over a million dollars !! :o

what ive seen is, if someone says they want a simple wedding, well, their cheap. gross generalization, but honestly, thats the feel i get

Yah gross generalization indeed, as that does not hold true for everyone. Some people, despite having gobs of money, really do like to do things simply. I remember when one of my husband's friends got married a few years ago. His family is mad mad loaded and he himself through his business is very wealthy independent of his parents wealth. But his wedding was honestly one of the most simple weddings Ive been to. They are by no means cheap or miserly when it comes to spending money. But they arent people who care about showing off and making an impression with their wealth. The couple wanted a small simple wedding and so thats what they did. Other people were shocked, like you arent even having a formal reception, but they didnt care, and thats great that they didnt!

About spending money ---I think theres a huge difference between 2 things: someone who has lots of money and spends lots of money because they want to vs. someone who doesnt have lots of money but spends lots of money because they want to impress their guests

She looked really nice in the white dress!
Whats the thing they do with the dupatta, putting something in the ends and drapping it across them both, what does it signify anyone know

Re: A Wedding which cost over a million dollars !! :o

Wow! so much money spent and i agree with some of you that her groomin wasnt good at all.

I’ve come to a new conclusion… a wedding is only as cheap and tacky as the people getting married. And to come to THAT conclusion, you really have to know the couple. dodging anday :halo:

Anyways, simple doesnt necessarily mean cheap or expensive..i mean its just like, u can get a simple black cardigan vs a frilly fancy lacy blouse…but the cardigan cud cost more cz its cashmere (okay bad example but i have shopping on my mind!).. i think what khawa meant by ppl who say they want simple weddings is that simple means not doing anything, no rasams, no “joy” no fun or anything… nto necessarily the $$ part. uhmmm… yeah.

But the point is.......maybe they are doing what gives THEM joy or what THEY find fun....instead of just worrying about what gives YOU joy or what YOU find fun
