i'm going to go with the short circuit/heat scenario. knowing the wedding now, no one really does the whole fireworks thingy until the barat anyways. and from the sounds of it, it was probably a mehndi function. anyways that's not the point of the discussion.

Yeah but according to the BBC link, the Dulha was injured as well, which means it was actually the shadi that took place in the bride's house's garden and both parties were there, however, segregated by genders.

*Just a while ago they sed on the news that the Bride hasn't Died, She was in bad condition that they couldnt recognise the bride and thought she died.
