Instead of going to to other forums to discuss the moderators of the religion section, I have taken the initiative to express my opinion on the way this forum is being moderated right here.
I would like to say outright that this forum is very well moderated. For all the people who complain that this place is suffocating, I find that some of the threads are too “liberal” and have agendas different from that of a person genuinely in search of knowledge. And a lot of times threads that I would like to have been wrapped up and sent to the moon have been allowed to grow.
As a Muslim, I can understand why Ahmadis and Hindus would have issues with the mods here. Our Ahmadi and Hindu friends are always kind enough to remind us of the discrepancies that in ample abundance in our flawed selves and the religion that we follow. And our moderators being the devout Muslims that they are choose to slug it out for the sake of their beliefs. And thus, the negative publicity follows.
Now, what I would like to know is that if our good friends, Hindus and Ahmadis alike have tried to do some introspection of their own while they preach the same to us over and over again? It is not very hard for us to point similar flaws. If most decent people don’t indulge in similar mudslinging please take it as a sign of respect, not weakness.
I wanted to open a thread on this issue because I am very happy with the way this forum is being handled. And since, this whole “who should not moderate religion” phenomenon is turning into a popularity contest I, as a Muslim, would like to give my vote to Sentinel and Akif for the way they’re overlooking this forum.
If the moderators feel that this thread should be closed, please go ahead. But since I feel very strongly that the people who are moderating this forum are doing an excellent job of upholding the ideals that I believe in, I just had to say out what I’ve been meaning to say for a long time.
Sambralian: If you have some comments on how this forum is being moderated please do use the PM system or drop an e-mail to the mod. This is a religion forum not a personals section. PLease bring up a topic on religion and everyone will provide their insights.:)

Agreed word to word. Two thumbs up for the way this forum is moderated now.. it used to be very loose, akif and sentinel have done wonderfuly well to give a proper direction to teh forum.
It has more to do with the way authority is thumped on the participants than with the way the forum is being moderated. A year back I had to be on the receiving end of statements very similar in nature to what Roman has mentioned in his thread in the General forum ("You will be answering to me"). This is quite an amazing statement. Now I understand that Gupshup is not a discussion board but a correctional facility and the members are not adults but kids who are being guided to the right path.
Your own statement indicates that you must be under 16, looking for guidance! Otherwise you wouldn't be here:
