it was grilled chicken burger with mayonnaise, mustard and pickles in it :frowning: how could i leave that.

By turning your face away from it :emmy:

Re: A visit to the beach.

There are no beaches where I am these days…

well, there is one artificially created

PS: but me being me did not go to the sea beaches much when I was in NY let alone visiting some artificial beach created off a river/lake :snooty:

naa that is impossible for a punjabi to do so:snooty:

Desis back home now have accepted this as a fact that in West wearing less clothes is not a sign of lose character. That is a non issue. But due to Eastern family values they feel embarrassed to go to those places as a family where there will be scantily clothed men or women.
Desi singles , even married men or women will be less embarrassed at those places if their family is not with them.

Re: A visit to the beach.

Beach should nt be a problem since you can see all of that anywhere here:D

Re: A visit to the beach.

k, this may sound a bit 'utopian' but when we go as a family/cousins/friends we have SOOO much fun, that there's not much else to look around for. And ofcourse if the boys and their gazes do wander ...eh... who cares...its their burden to bear (I agree with Mama of 3 here). Although if someone wants to poondi, they can even do so without the beach being in question. Every place has hot curry, its all how one's mind navigate around and where the direction needle of it is pointing :)

:salam:

The best beach to be at.

^Oh man, I miss Middle East!

However, I love beaches despite the fact that I wear a hijab. I go very often, sometimes twice in a week and mostly to the ones in NY, CA or the Carribean, depending on where I am at the moment.

It might be a little uncomfortable for some people being with their dad or brothers, but who goes to beaches with them all the time? Go with your friends, and if you're uncomfortable still, then go at a time when there won't be a lot of people around, may be weekdays instead of weekends, or at odd time. One of my best birthday parties was a surprise one at a NY beach actually!

i dont go with dad to beach, but now with my hubby, SIL and brothers, we do go alot. but we try to find family beach or stay where there arent many people around.

one of my brother is mulana type and he tries his best to keep us away from main crowd and we used to have fights over it.
