A very tough question.

Why do birds have two legs only , and insects have 4 or more ?
And birds always have two wings insects can have multiple wings ?
They both fly , then why they were engineered differently ?

P.S. I do not know the right answer and did not feel like googling it.

Re: A very tough question.

Having said that, Why only things with 2 wings fly?
Logically things with more wings should fly faster. But They dont fly, and prefer to crawl.

Dragonfly has four wings . No ?

Re: A very tough question.

birds...insects...wings...what? this is really hitting rock bottom :D

But dragon has 2 wings and It fly lot faster. Some thing really wrong here.

See my point ?

:smack: No I am not talking about dragon , I said dragonfly. She the picture in post # 8 above.

Re: A very tough question.

:sleep2:

But my point is things with 2 wings fly faster.

But in this post you said things with more wings don't fly ? May be you wanted to say they do not fly faster than two winged birds ?

Re: A very tough question.

**Birds and Insects are from two different ancestors. Hence they have evolved differently. Insects were around during dinosaur era where as birds weren't. Insects usually have more then four legs to balance out their body structure and the thrust generated by multiple wings. Birds on the other hand are from reptilians and their body structure doesn't produce such a great thrust when compared to their mass. Then there is humming bird which is able to produce higher thrust, hence its the only bird to fly backward. We shouldn't forget bats here either, they evolved from mammals.

Lots can be said in term of engineering but at the very heart its evolution at work, they all evolved from different species, hence different characteristics. **

Re: A very tough question.

so tell Mirch ji, How many more legs do you plan on having? :hmmm:
Were u going to go for wings as well???

Re: A very tough question.

because Allah has created them this way, and no objection should be raised on smthing, that has been created by Allah...

My nick is Mirch and you behave like one.

I or nobody here is raising any objection , we are not birds and insects so we do not have any right to object anyways.

We are just pondering why Allah(SWT) did what He did and if we find some very logical and scientefic explanation it strenghtens our eman.

There is this ayat in Quran:
“Surely Allah is not ashamed to set forth any parable - (that of) a gnat or any thing above that;” (Al-Baqara (The Cow), 26)

And now read this article about the explanation of this Ayat.

The Mosquito and Its Extraordinary Adventure (www.islaam.org.uk)

If that discussion does not strenghten your toh paisay wapis .
