Allow me to share with you as I hav been told that it is a true love story.

‘Moomal’ was a female and ‘Rano’ male. ‘Moomal’ had a sister and her name was ‘Soomal’ Both were very preety and cute girls. In urban area where these girls were lived wasn’t very secure due to robbery incidents.

One day they both decided to built a palace (Taslimi Mehal) and whoever manage to cross this palace then onc of these girls would get in wedlock with him. Individuals Princes of that time tried but none of them successed and they lost lots of amount. By that amount ‘Moomal’ and her sister became richest.

One day ‘Rano’ somehow crossed that palace and reached to the ‘Moomal’. He fall in love with her and decided to get marry with her. Rano came back to his town and invited all to attend. One of the Prince called ‘Rano’ and asked him that he wanna se ‘Moomal’ as he don’t believe him what he saying. ‘Rano’ visited the prince with ‘Moomal’. When that Prince saw her, he fall in love but ‘Moomal’ refused because she was in love with ‘Rano’.

Prince then arrested ‘Rano’ and sent him into jail. ‘Moomal’ without ‘Rano’ lost all her hopes and became half mental. Her sister ‘Soomal’ dressed up same like ‘Rano’ and visited her every single light for the sake of her heatlh condition.

One day ‘Rano’ breakout from the jail visited her and saw ‘Moomal’ with another man. He left his cap ‘pagri’ and some another things as indication to her that he visited but she wasn’t alone. ‘Moomal’ and her sister ‘Soomal’ assured that man wasn’t anybody else except her sister and she still loves him.

Eventually that Princess killed ‘Rano’ and ‘Moomal’ burned herself by own due to mentally illness and by sepration from ‘Rano’.

Different peoples share ‘Mooma’ and 'Rano’s story in different way but everyone agreed that it is a ture story.

Re: A True Love Story

Sur Rano is the most melodious sur of ‘Shah jo Risalo’. It is as famous in Sindh as ‘Heer’ in Punjab.

You are welcome bro :)

I will try to find out information about the 'Palace (talismi Mehal)' of 'Moomal' where she actually lived. I heard it is still there.

Re: A True Love Story

It is some where in Northern Sindh probably near Ghotki. Let me check... The story belonged to Rajput tribes and period when Indian Gujrat was part of Sindh.

Re: A True Love Story

Here I found about that Moomal Ji Maadi (Moomal’s palace):

Situated in Mirpur Mathelo District Ghotki, the palace was referred as ‘Kaak Mahal’ in Shah Latif’s poetry. Back in 80’s PTV produced a Sindhi Drama ‘Kaak Mehal’ where Sakeena Samon played Moomal

Re: A True Love Story

Re: A True Love Story

The same video clip which i posted at post #1 :)

Re: A True Love Story

Oh I just found that thread in Video Gallery. Strange that out of 170 visitors, no one knew about this famous Sindhi folk tale and related music. My father made me astonished by telling me the name of Sur by just listening to opening rythm of a song based on Shah Latif's Sur (the famous 18th century sufi poet and musician of Sindh). I can only recognise 'Sur Rano' and that is also after listening to it for a minute or two.
