It was back in (on or about) 1998 when I last visited or posted on gupshup forums.
Of course, those were the days when the internet was new and forums/chat spaces were the thing.
At 55 now, I guess it's natural to frequently take a trip down memory lane so I wanted to check if the site still exists.
Not only that it still does but I was pleasantly surprised to see my handle was still in the database and I only had to reset my password to gain access, though, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that I might have done the samething a decade or so ago as well. But I have no recollection of doing it.
Anyways, back in the day it was a very vibrant, energetic, and very involved community. But, then again, forums and chat rooms were the thing and they aren't now. At least, not that intense.
I don't remember anyone or anything from those days except one site administrator name Munnezay (or, something like that). And, God, I can't even remember the correct pronunciation or the spelling of her name. But you get the idea. Another thing I remember is the ocassion when gupshup team arranged a get together with forum users somewhere in the US or Canada, though, I didn't attend.
Anyway, hello from an old folk who is recalling the years gone by.

So I did come back after 1998 but it was still a couple of decades ago, and briefly.
Hey mashallah welcome back! Its always great to have the true heroes back who actually uplifted GS out of nowhere. Specially in the era of before FB or i guess even before orkut (remember that name?) So yea GS was way ahead of time in that sense when the term "social media" wasnt even surfaced.
So, a couple of questions:
1) Tell us how as it on GS back then in early 2000s. Fights or no fights? Bans or no bans?
2) How is life treating you now specially in recent years?
well, I decided to pay a visit after years and years... I joined back in the year 2000 when I was in University.... I had to reset my password too.
How time flies!! It was surreal checking my posts from all those years ago and some old messages... good times indeed... I remember posting voice messages back then in Punjabi...ahh was awesome!
Interesting. I have heard from the oldies like yourself that there used to be a chat feature. And now you are saying there was a feature to send voice messages as well. That’s cool.
