Few of the people at my work site are leaving because internal re-org etc. Every few days I get these farewell emails from people leaving. Usually it’s pretty much the same standard sentiments of “great working with you, keep in touch, blah blah blah” and enclosing their yahoo/gmail/hotmail address to keep in touch waghaira waghaira.
However, there have been couple of emails that are bit more cutthroat/balatant etc, saying something like “have a nice life”. Which, actually is an honest farewell bid because you’re quite sure you won’t be seeing/talking to that person again, specially if your association with him/her was not that deep or extended.
But somehow it sounds terrible to me. I’d feel really bad saying “have a nice life” to someone. Saying goodbye is the most difficult thing I’ve ever done and I’ve only done that once or twice and thank God I actually started talking to the person again after severing all ties.
Don’t you think it’s a terrible sorta thing to say? Even though it’s in fact a pleasant well wishing farewell.
I did say. . . until then may Allah continue to shower His blessings on u. Mie ghaib thori ho rahi hoon, aww… didn’t knew it’ll have such an terribly upsetting impact on u. :halo:
dunno sumo us care more about others than just considering them mere fellow kooleegz I guess. (<-when i said some, I meant u only)
ps. cudn’t help thinking, after reading this, about what I said earlier.
Roman, i dont feel sorry at all. I usually tell them get eff out of my face. I am going to a place where work is fun and people are not simpletons.
BTW, its good to see you back. Do not feel terrible about your decision to leave that lot, you deserve better and they needed a boot in their arse.
