Guys, we need to help Pakistan’s team case by clarifying hte situation whenever and wherever we post (other than Gupshup). Remember that other than Pakistan and English fans, not a lot of people were watching the game and will depend on the media articles to understand the situation.
I have noticed that** many journalists, Australians in particular, are MISLEADING the readers by emphasizing ‘Hair’s allotment of hte match to England’ rather than the accusation of ball tampering itself. **
There’s this paper, that has a headline saying ‘Simon Tauffel’ supports Hair’s stance, and then deep down it says that Tauffel said umpires were right in alloting the match to England after Pakistan’s no show. The headline and the tone of the article misleads an uninformed reader into believing that the whole controversy is about forfeiture, and even Simon Tauffel sides with Darrel Hair in how he handled the situation (of forfeiture). That’s a lie becuase the controversy is NOT the forfeiture.
But ‘our no show and subsequent forfeit’ is not one of Pakistan’s grievances here. We are hurt by accusation of match fixing. **By focusing on the forfeiture itself, and not what led to it, certain medai outlets are OBVIOUSLY EMPHASIZING the aspect of the story that FAVORS HAIR while giving little details about why the actual allegation of ball tampering was unfounded. **
My suggestion is, that we need to play our part by educating potential reader of our messages (when we post at other sites) that our problem is not with the forfeiture, but with the accusation of ball tampering. We admit that by not showing up we forfeited the game, end of story, now let’s talk about the root cause!
Re: A Suggestion to All Guppies on what line to tow in their messages about Hair
We should send a formal letter/email to ICC, PCB and everyone invloved saying we strongly support Inzi and the team. If Inzi or the team is fined for tampering the ball, Pakistan should cancel the ODI series and return to Pakistan immediatly. Support Pakistan all the way!
Re: A Suggestion to All Guppies on what line to tow in their messages about Hair
I have sent emails to Daily Telegraph and Independent inviting them to review our forum as it will give them an idea of the views of informed and educated Pakistani cricket fans.

We should write up an email message with a strong tone! Somebody with good vocabulary skills, please write one up!! :) Then we can change the words and what not and send it ourselves.

Rite cricketplaya,..........i attempted 22 rite a little sumthing up but my vocab skills aren't all that and i am onli 15 years old so plz don't laff,............here goes
I would like 2 express my concerns about the reasons which lead 2 the Pakistani team having 2 forfeit their forth test match versus England at The Oval. I am very concerned that the umpire; Darrell Hair was able 2 make a decision which resulted in determining the outcome of the match, without providing evidence. I do not believe that I am the only individual who feels let down and disgusted that the honour of the Pakistani team has been degraded in such a manner through no fault of their own. I would understand the decision of the umpire, had he provided sufficient evidence. However, he had the audacity 2 end the game AND reward the match 2 England. I believe this to be totally unacceptable. Furthermore, I was appalled 2 hear that none other than the captain of the victimised team has been charged on two accounts. If Inzamam is found 'guilty', I would find it very disturbing that someone of such high stature and accountability can be falsely accused in such a manner.
