A successful marriage

Ladies and gentlemen:

I have learned a lot about a variety of marital problems in this forum. For both, married and unmarried, I would like to ask you this:

In your opinion, what are 10 attritbutes and/or qualities that you would like to see in your spouse in order to have a successful marriage?

It appears to me that most marriages are for the sake of being married without envisioning the challenges ahead.

Best,
Arazi.

Re: A successful marriage

Now how does other people's "list" of wants make a difference in your life? You do realize there is no formula for success right?
So pointless.

Re: A successful marriage

**ANGER **in a person is a DANGER sign - not good for relationship
GSOH - essential if u also have one
FUNNY
LISTENS TO U
TRUSTWORTHY
NO PROBLEM WITH SHARING HOUSEWORK / COOKING
IS NOT THICK!
RELIGIOUS BUT NOT NARROW MINDED ABOUT IT
RESPECTFUL
ATTRACTIVE TO U

Whoa dude. U've gotta get ur head peppered with a bit of some optimistic-dust. (like fair-tinkerbell-dust)

c'mon now. Life ain't all that bleak is it. Do read some Ralph Waldo Emerson if u everrrrrrrrrr have the inclination.

To me and also to him success is:

*To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of little children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one self; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived- this is to have succeeded. *

Re: A successful marriage

^although I'm not sure if i can endure the torture of befriending little children at the moment. Such headache they give, the best I can do is stuff candies in their cute little pie holes :(

btw, Arazi I will come back to your question. I don't want to make a fat rambling post which says nothing. Lemme give it some thought :)

well noone can have a perfect marriage there s always something missing

Re: A successful marriage

Success is all in one's head. If u feel contend ... u will be in peace. Just depends on how much home-work, and energy both hub/wife sincerely wants to invest into that relationship, for I think nothing is impossible if one puts their mind to it, unless u're married to a already-dead-trunk-of-a-tree like person :-)

Just one is enough:
Should be a perfect spouce and should know what a perfect spouce needs to do to get the marriage going.
