Salary listed in an advertised job is the base pay or includes the benifits too.. Like 401k, health insurance and stuff?

usually just the base if it doesn't say anything else. Sometimes it may include an annual bonus components.
Watch out for 'commission jobs' though - if the job is a salesy one and the employer is not a big company, the total salary is usually an 'upto' number and likely includes a target performance linked component.
